Best KPortal Reviews

One of the nicest places I've visited
Real fires old wood beams
Great country pub feel
Could have stayed here all day
It was in Halkin overlooking the river dee what a view we were next to a huge window were we cld appreciate the view we asked for a table to eat but we hadn't booked socwe sat by a roaring fire greatly appreciated after a waking on the moors after 20 mins the staff came and asked if we still wanted a table as someone had cancelled we jumped at the chance
The food was the best I've ever had
£20 for 3 courses what can i say had to b done me and my family couldn't have been happier with the service and food see photos will definitely be returning to this recently discovered jewel
Unexpected find on route to North Wales. Excellent Christmas atmosphere, very welcoming and warm roaring open fires finishrd off with lovely food and nice drinks, especially the Christmas in a glass Plum Pudding beer. It was just the perfect start to our long weekend break.
Didn't have food on this occasion but will be back for sure. A beautiful clean pub with really friendly staff and some great views. Good menu to choose from also.
Stunning setting, even on a rainy day. We didn’t eat, just sat by the roaring fire playing pool and waiting for the skies to clear.
Good food beautifully cooked. Nice pub atmosphere, great views over to pennines ,and even a live singer who was very good
Best of all … REAL CHIPS. made by frying real potatoes in oil. Sign of a class joint ????
Great Value Sunday lunch. Excellent portion size. Great quality. Absolutely rustic inside stone floors in parts log burners Great friendly staff. Dogs r welcome which is a massive bonus. Excellent view overlooking out towards chest and sandlow. Will definitely be back to try the bigger menu.
Went for lunch on Friday. Absolutely delicious hot fresh food. Value for money. Will definitely return soon. The team there very friendly helpful nothings too much trouble. Spectacular views great location
Visited on one of the few days this summer when it wasn't raining and cold so we able to eat outside on the terrace.
Spectacular views over the Dee estuary and beyond. You can even see Blackpool tower on a clear day.
Food quality was good and promptly served with absolutely minimal wait time but was not served very hot and being outside it cooled too quickly.
The problem with this lovely public house is that it has had a whole series of tenent landlords who have never seemed able to help it reach its full potential.
A huge carpark, plenty of space indoors and outside as well as a small 6 or 8 pitch caravan site for touring vans as well as a limited number of guest rooms.
An ideal location for thousands of tourists travelling in both directions along the A55 to and from Anglesey/Holyhead and many other parts of the beautiful coastline of Wales.
We hope the new tenent/landlord who is also the chef is able to make a success of it and is here to stay.
