Chips were fresh.
Fish and chicken… I could make from frozen in my oven and it would taste better. Deffo not fresh. Fish was rubbery so probably old and chicken tasted like it had been sitting for hours as it was hard.
Young guy behind the counter was a good bloke.
Got myself Rock and Chips, food tasted great, staffs are friendly, portion of food is great, reasonably priced. Only the waiting time was a bit longer than expected but that’s absolutely forgivable as it wasn’t long enough to lose my patience. Would definitely recommend others.
Excellent cod, freshly deep fried on order. Chips were good, not the best. Generous portions.

Massive portions and well priced. Mine took some time but was made fresh. Could this be the best fish and chips shop on the south side of the island? Note: no card machine!
Delicious fish and chips!!! Very fresh. Fish literally melts in your mouth. Portions are massive! Highly recommend.
Edit: they just increased prices. £5.50 for the burger with chips, up from £5.00
Best chicken burger I’ve tried in this price range, by far. Apparently they bread it themselves - tastes much better than the chicken shop right next to it. £3.30, too (Jun 2023). I call ahead and pick up in 10 mins.
Maz and the guys are very attentive and even thoughtful! They remember I like spicy and put chili peppers inside when normally that’s not done. There’s a reason their rating is higher than all the other shops around.
The 2 stars is being generous and relates only to the largish portion of passable chips although they still fail my taste test. The fish was truly awful- stale and with the worst batter I have encountered in many years. Basically they have no idea how to make a fresh bubbly crispy batter - it was a very thin, totally flat and tasteless covering.
Do not buy here if you have any idea of how a battered fish should look and taste as you will be severely disappointed and out of pocket.
