Lodges and venue was nice BUT issues with local residents. They dumped bricks and rubble at the car entrance/exit so people were stuck in. No overnight staff was told to ring police if there were issues because the lovals were looking for a fight. Then at 6pm the locals arrived at the rear to the field on motorbikes and quad bikes wrecking the venue. Could be a nice place if secure and staffed but i could not recommend to anyone after the current experience. Only given money back for nights not visited but at this stage glad to be home.
The outside is lovely however, the inside is very basic! Reminded us of our uni accommodation. The sofa was ripped and stuff coming out of it. The TV only plays radio. Our biggest issue was the check out. We were getting ready to check out and went for a shower but there was no hot water and the water coming out so slow. To then find out the someone had been using the tap outside for the hot tub. So we couldn’t shower. Obviously, we were trying to figure this out and a lady came with a raised voice saying we need to leave. The check out was by 10am so I can leave at 9.59am if I want. When we said about the hot water she said we need to use the taps so we can refill the hot tubs. Well surely you would do that after the guests have checked out so they can still use the facilities they have paid for. We had no hot water from 9.20am
Not as bad as first feared following on from other reviews.
The park is down a pot hole laden road, with gypsy encampments on both sides, certainly a strange place to have a holiday park!
The holiday park is behind a large steel gate and once behind that you feel secure.
The park seems to have a lot of work that's been started and hasn't been finished, there could well be reasons to that, the Marina is just a small lake/large pond.. hardly a Marina!
The lodge itself I cannot fault, apart from there is no privacy when using the jacuzzi, perhaps fencing would certainly erase that issue?
The lodge was clean, well stocked of dishwasher tablets, plates etc.not far from Brigg where there is an Aldi only 3 minute drive!
Definitely has potential to be a very good holiday park and for the price paid I guess we got what we expected
We stayed in a Sycamore lodge. It was nice and clean and plenty of space for the 5 of us and the hot tub really made it! Only downside is that they try and get you to pay a non refundable £25 damage fee, even if you don't damage anything. We did refuse to pay and they were fine about it.
Arrived at our accommodation and opened the door to be hit by the smell of dogs and a sticky floor! Very basic inside. Mirrors in both bathrooms broken and threshold strip is missing into the bathroom making this very dangerous. As this is accommodation for dogs be warned that there's no where for your dogs to be let off around your accommodation, meaning your dogs have to stay inside whilst you're in the hot tub. If dogs arent allowed upstairs then how do you suggest we stop them? The cutlery doesn't match and was also sat wet in the draw. The floor is wooden downstairs but no mop to clean it.
We booked to stay here the beginning of august and read the mixed reviews but went open minded. Yes there is a pot hole road up to the estate but once through brigg lodges gated entrance the road is fine and it’s a very well kept clean estate. This rough road is a run up to an industrial estate and is shared by many businesses clearly and I would say nothing directly to do with brigg marina lodges it’s clearly shared. Yes there is a travellers camp to the right before coming up to the gate for the lodges but so what they are people just living in there homes on an estate and my attitude is you don’t bother them they won’t bother you and they didn’t at all. Once your through the gate it’s like your cut off from the world it’s a street that houses the lodges with plenty of space and as I stated kept very clean and tidy. Now we stayed in lodge 15 and found the lodge to be lovely and so much space and the hot tub was ready waiting for us. Now I’ve seen a few reviews about the lodges been run down or need of updating now we paid £325 for a mon to fri and if I had paid £1000 then yes I would have been nit picking but been honest again our lodge had scuffs on the wall knocked paint work here and there a damaged lampshade at the side of the main bed a burnt bit of decking where somebody had clearly ignored the rules and had a bbq on plastic decking and a broken blind….so says it all that previous holiday makers have not had an ounce of respect for where they are staying at all which I find disgusting and thus causing the £25 fee you pay on arrival to cover clearly other peoples damage.I’m sure they will have these minor things on there list to do when they don’t have the lodges booked out. We were comfy, slept well enjoyed the peace and found the staff to be very polite and respectful, all guests were respectful of each other too not an ounce of noise from anyone. Plenty of towels and the kitchen was equipped enough for us to cook.
it’s a few minutes away from a few supermarkets and brigg town. Would we return?? Yes we would and have already recommended here to friends….thanks for a lovely stay.
Needed to write a great review about his place ,Especially after ready such negative reviews from other people. Booked a long weekend (July 2nd 2021) for my Daughters Hen do. We hired 2 lodges (number 5&6) and couldn't have asked for any thing better.
Accommodation was so spacious and clean excellent set up of both single and double rooms, plenty of bathrooms. Had every cooking utensil anyone could ever need. Staff were friendly and polite. Hot tubs cleaned and checked every day.
The marina was as expected having seen the pics, and was still nice to walk to.
I could not think of a negative comment to leave apart from we've had to come home ????. Thanks Brigg Marina. We will definitely be back.
????x
This is such a lovely luxury lodge park. Considering it was half term week it was very quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The hottubs and lodges where spotless and we had a call the week before to say there was a plumbing issue in one of our Lodge bathrooms. This wasn't an issue really and they offered us an alternative site but we really likes this one. When we got there it was all working fine which was a bonus as they had already discounted us before arriving for the inconvenience. Thought it was great for them to offer alternatives. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay here and will definitely be returning in the future (and its only 45 minutes away)
