Best KPortal Reviews

Forever having issues with this surgery and its the reception staff not the nurses! They are rude most of the time and change their minds about process, one says one and another says another. If you aren't extra nice they give you the worst appointments too. Absolutely hate having to ring sometimes I avoid it and just try and muddle through illnesses!
Update - Changed from 1 to 5 stars, Sean has kindly resolved the below and was very kind via the telephone.
I’ll start by stating the GPs/clinical team here are amazing and provide a high level of care.
Like previous reviews, some of the receptionists however seem to believe they are medically trained and can diffrentiate between what requires an apppointment/what requires hospital care.
I’ve just rang the service after speaking to 111 with a fully qualified clinician for 20 minutes whom stated I needed to book in with my GP. I then proceeded to ring my Briercliffe Medical Centre for the receptionist to refuse an appointment and state ‘I’m not booking you in, you need to go to Urgent Care’.
I think the receptionists need to be made aware that they cannot make such decisions as they are not clinically trained.
It’s a shame really as the clinical team will go above/beyond for you but obtaining an appointment via the reception team is extremely difficult.
. It really depends who you get to speak to. Some staff at reception are very good, some incredibly unhelpful and rude. Generally the phone receptionist is obstructive and often rude. The main problem is trying to get a GP appointment.Impossible. The staff appear to be briefed to avoid allowing access to GP appointments, diverting patients to HCAs or nurses, a much cheaper option to provide. As this is a private company contracted to provide NHS services, perhaps they should concentrate more on actually providing a comprehensive service to customers and less on the bottom line, making a profit. There is a section on the website stating they are meeting the NHS quality criteria. Clearly the criteria need reassessing. For the above reasons I would not recommend this surgery and will be looking for alternatives. I tried to contact a recommended surgery 3 times but no answer after the recording. At least this surgery always answer the phone! Maybe there is nobody good out there.
I have had nothing but positive experiences with the surgery. Appointments have been on time and the staff have always been pleasant whilst respecting privacy.
I find the telephone consultants particularly helpful as it isn’t always easy to find the time to actually attend an appointment.
I have used both the e consult and face to face appointment services. I found them both very easy to book and professional at all times. I have been a patient of the practice for over 20 years and have nothing but praise for the hard working and dedicated staff.
Very poor.. they take an age to answer the phone and when they do they can’t wait to get you off again.. don’t think they have doctors there anymore.. you can never see one it’s probably all A I now.. fill in an e consultation she said ok I said.. I got the link and guess what the internal server was down ha well never mind I’ll just go away an die.. they certainly don’t care..
I have had a health declaration in since 13 September 2023 , I have been to the surgery 3/4 times and been told the person who deals with it doesn't come in till 10.30am so been up later and he's on his break , phoned up loads of times and they will phone us back but never do. If these are not completed by Thursday this week then myself and husband will not be able to carry on working and this is then letting 9 parents down!!
Think I will be moving surgeries!
I have never had a problem with this practise. I have found the staff to be helpful, and always managed to get an on the day appointment if it was required. I don't think some people appreciate that the receptionist has a duty to make sure that patients are prioritised and that an appointment with a GP may not always be the best option and that's why they have to ask questions!!
I find the online service particularly useful to request repeat prescriptions etc as it saves clogging up phone lines when they are clearly very busy. Thanks and keep up the good work.
