After trying to ring the practice ( rang six times) left a message to clarify if my daughters appointment was still on. Went yesterday evening for the appointment, to find out that it had been cancelled. They said a message had been left on my land line answer machine, which would be difficult as it has not been switched on since April last year! My daughter had taken the day off work as she works in Hull for her appointment. To be told that they no longer do late appointments on a Monday! If they had answered the phone we could have resolved this earlier in the day and they may have been able to fit her in. I am disappointed as it used to be a good practice, my husband and I are on our third appointment after the last 2 cancelled...will see if this one gets cancelled also.
I've been at this practice for well over a decade. And it's fair to say that things have never been harder for the clinicians, staff and patients. The practice is groaning under the burden of not enough - not enough staff, time, resources, capacity and continuity.
Every time I've been there, I have been treated with great kindness, great clinical care and the utmost respect. And almost every time I've been there, I have witnessed nothing but all of those staff trying their very, very best to keep an oversubscribed state practice running and fit for purpose.
However, every time I've been in over the last five years, I've seen how much they are struggling - phone calls, answering machines, cancelling appointments, clinicians leaving, understaffed and overworked. Big gaps in rotas, in fillings and in scheduling owing to how hard it is to get patients to the right person at the right time, and keep the schedule on time when we all need "just a quick..."
The staff are abused, harassed, upset and frustrated at the problems in the practice. That's not because they are at fault, it is because there isn't enough. That they experience these feelings is because they care and they are trying to do their best.
Today, they went out of their way to answer my enquiry in person. They were exemplary, and I left with the best possible outcome. There were patients complaining, with good cause and good reason. And the staff kept on working, kept on doing their best with what they had available at the time.
Thank them. They're trying their very best to keep us healthy.
Very rude Receptionist that talks down to you. When you call they never answer and cancel appointments on a regular basis, when i tried to make another appointment the receptionist said she was to busy.
My 14 year old was referred for braces a year and a half ago, for me to of chased a week ago as I had not heard an update, for them to tell me it had Been refused as it was in Leicester and had been sat on there system for all that time then to be told its not there fault its one of them things. I am not normally one to write a review however this dentist is the worst service I had ever received, I would definitely avoid.
Can't fault todays experience. A friendly and helpful receptionist and a thorough dentist who listened and explained and all with a smile. Dental visits are not the best but I did feel at ease by the time I left
The most poorest of dental practices I have ever encountered. Poor reception team. No one ever answers the phone. Appointments get cancelled without any notice to the patient. Twice I have driven an hour to a confirmed appointment now for the practice to be closed. I did of course try calling ahead but guess what - noone answers the phone. The receptionist I did see last time was ridiculously rude. What on earth has happened to what was once a decent practice. AVOID AVOID AVOID
On three separate occasions I’ve turned up for my appointment, to be told it’s been cancelled. The reason of my dentist leaving, and I’ve been sent an email telling me this. But I have never received a email.
They booked an appointment for me. I went and they told me appointment is cancelled. They claim I have been emailed but I received no email. The receptionist was rude to me. My daughter said she was nice to another person who came when I was using the toilet. Told them they should wait but they will get them a slot. I was in pain. What a terrible experience. It's could be racial motivated receptionist.
I have impacted wisdom teeth which towards the beginning of the year, I was told to wait a week for the new dentist to start so they could refer me to the hospital for extractions. Months of ringing up to enquire about this appointment, im told a dentist hasnt even started yet. Finally, many months down the line of waiting for this new dentist to start, we finally are able to book an appointment for 4 months time. So, another 4 months later, its cancelled and I'm told my dentist isnt in today and I'm gonna have to rebook. Rebooked for the week after and once again its been cancelled. Tried calling many times to rebook, to no answer. The NHS is going rapidly down the drain. Booking a simple appointment seems to be impossible these days. Cannot take anymore gum infections. Gonna have to pay to go private, just to get a wisdom teeth referral. Brilliant. Thanks England.
