We was camping and made plans to go home that day. But my friend came back and said there was a band playing at this location later that night . It was one of the most amazing, laid back friendliest places I have ever been too. Had such a great time and hope to see you all at some point in the future, thank you
I stayed here with a friend for just one night after climbing Cadair Idris. It's ideal for anyone visiting for outdoor pursuits. Loads of walking and mountain biking in the area. The well equipped lounge area has has all the maps and guides you could possibly need. It has a drying room and bike sheds. The kitchen is great and the beds are a good size. We couldn't fault this place. The pub down the road (2min walk) does food and there's good parking.
I stayed here for 2 nights during August 2016 along with my 3 children. Some of the decor and furnishings are dated but nothing you don't expect when staying at a bunkhouse. Our room was spacious and met our needs. There was plenty of storage too. We were particularly pleased to be staying in the 'Prince William' room!! The biggest downside to the room was the lack of a lock on the bedroom door - something that would have given a bit of extra piece of mind with me having 3 children with me. ||The lounge area was fine, and the children loved the range of exotic pets on show. The kitchen facilities were fantastic and dining room was great too. ||The views from the bunkhouse are amazing! ||I never had a problem parking but did have to take extra care when crossing the road as it is on a sharp bend.
Called again this weekend and made a last moment addition to our party, no drama or crisis just a ‘yes that will be fine’. As always a warm welcome with clean rooms.||.||The Inn appears to have been sold so we wait to see what the new owners change.||.||Unfortunately the bar was closed so the owner directed us to the Slaters arms (couple of hundred yards down the road). It’s a small pub (like somebody’s front room) with great beer and food (no menu you have what they have cooked). On this occasion we had live music and house scotch for £3.50 for a double, we had a really good night. Well recommended.
20 or so of our running club stayed at the bunkhouse for a weekend, and had THE BEST time. We had full use of the very well-equipped kitchen and dining room. There’s also a (good value) bar on site with a pool table and darts. We borrowed the barbecue on our last night to use out in the garden, which was super ace.||||Ann and Andy were brilliantly accommodating – they were fantastic hosts. 5/5 would certainly visit again!
What did we expect from an old bunkhouse? We were correct it’s not a premier inn which is always our first choice when we go for a short holiday but we were well welcomed by Cidoux the new owner of the property. Everything looks tidy and clean enough from the lounge to the kitchen and dining and most of all the rooms 1,2,3 and 6. Yes it does need updating but I believe that modernisation of the interior will not match the exterior of the Inn. We have barely used the facilities as we were always out showers and bed only. But everything was perfect because it was a 9 minute walk from our Family camp so it was very convenient for the four families including mine. There is ample parking across the road in front of the property. Overall very good experience. Thank you Javier or shall I say Cidoux. Hahaha!!! I told you that it’s Javier’s name the bunkhouse is using here’s the proof on the pictures!
Found this place by accident when a mate and i decided to climb Cadair idris, what i didnt expect was the friendly greeting, the warm and clean rooms, great bar and lounge dining room,& kitchen that were all clean tidy and well equipped. loads of information about the area is available, including maps of the local mountain bike trails and cycle routes. we will be back very soon. Local pub for evening meal nearby (5 mins walk ).its called a bunk house- its better than that!
Great place! Fantastic people! A big Bunkhouse in a great spot for hiking, biking or anything you'd like to do. The facilities are great (a huge communal kitchen, a great social area and pub to hang out) and the people running it are just amazing.
