Great place to park with great view of the beach and time to spend an hour or so walking into the small village for a drink and look at the sea. I understand from the locals that sadly they will be introducing an automated number plate recognition system in place in the car park to deter people from parking longer than they would like them to park there :-(
Boulmer beach is really great. We were on holiday in Alnwick and decided to visit this beach, mainly because I was interested in collecting washed up pottery but also to give our dogs a run. Really lovely beach, very very clean but smelly because of all the washed up seaweed. Very quiet, there were a few people at the shore digging for crayfish but that was about it. I managed to get a few bits of pottery and wore my dogs out at the same time. There’s no toilets around so make sure you use the toilet before you visit. No food either. Free day out, I would recommend.
Free parking, sea views nice walk along beach, south towards Alnmouth or north to Craster... Busy little car park, frequently full. Coastal path is well marked and a very good surface for walking or cycling.
A good beach car park with easy access and tremendous community support. Spare balls for forgetful dog walkers and in the summer there is a box with toys for the kids.
Higher than average amounts of sea glass, eroded concrete and brickwork on the beach. Not an issue when walking in winter but creates some extra risk for bare feet in the summer.
A number of local residents were picking litter when we visited on a cold day in January.

Limited spaces for walkers/cyclists wanting to park. However, it is free! There is a nearby pub, but it is closed on Sundays, even on an August Bank Holiday weekend.
Nice beach normally but yesterday it was raining cats and dogs so just sat in car watching dog walkers. Them went to fishing boat inn great food and staff
