Really nice new spot with a range of options for a sit-down breakfast or to get pastries. The service is good as is the value of money.
We had a few issues with the hot drinks being cold but a quick word with one of the waitresses and it was sorted. We also found the toast a little hard for our liking but that's to be expected with sourdough and more of a personal preference as opposed to a fault with the food!
We would definitely return to try some of the sweet pastries as well as the savoury options, we went before 11 which meant it wasn't super busy which was perfect as it really picked up after and we likely would have struggled to get a table.
We enjoyed our breakfast here and the food was good, although my partner was quite disappointed by the vegetable/potato based sausage with the veggie breakfast. So many great vegan alternatives around which are similar to the real thing. Eggs Royale could be better with small serving of watercress or something with the mushrooms as they looked a bit sad on their own. Chairs could be comfier. Chocolate twist was great! Overall was good and happy to come back ????
Service could be improved and staff shall be better trained. All cakes and pastries look very good but not always tasty and fresh as expected.
Room for improvement ☺️
The difference in quality between BBM and other cafes is noticeable- every single item is exceptional! They make everything in house- I love that this brand has an exposed kitchen so you can see the chefs at work.
Myself and a few others tried a range of hot food items, breads and pastries. There was not one bad item- all of them were exquisite.
They even make their orange juice fresh in house! My personal favourite items include the Meaty Merguez breakfast, eggs Benedict, carrot cake, salted caramel brownie (I am craving this one right now), their sourdough bread, fresh orange juice, Merguez sausage roll, mushroom croissant and their lemon poppy seed cake.
This place truly does stand out- even something like a croissant, which cafes normally source from wholesalers, they make in house.
Staff were also very friendly and attentive- when I walked in I was instantly greeted with smiles which was great. I would come back just for the happy service!
All in all a fantastic experience and I hope to see their presence grow around London.
Visit Boulangerie Bon Matin Finchley Central today for afternoon tea with friends. Tea, coffee and croissants are excellent and today cheesecake is the best. Staff are good and polite. The wall is decorated with paintings from local artists and will change every month. I'll definitely come back and try other food.
Good location, the place is bigger than other BBM. But not really comfy, very noice , uncomfortable chairs. Also the food was tasty, quick served , not overpriced. They have a nice variety of fresh pastries. Coffee taste it’s ok… I tried beetroot latte ( don’t really recommend) 7/10.
After visiting Boulangerie Bon Matin in Finchley, I must say, while there's room for growth, the establishment shows promise. Despite a lengthy wait of at least half an hour for our order, the ambiance of the place is delightful. The staff's friendliness adds a warm touch to the experience.
However, there are areas that could use attention. The food, while decent, lacks the desired level of elaboration. Additionally, the presentation of the plates seems somewhat cheap, detracting from the overall dining experience.
As a lover of authentic French pastries, I was eager to try their "pain au chocolat," expecting a taste of France. Unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. The mention of "Artisan" on their signage raised hopes for something truly special, but the reality didn't quite match up.
Despite these shortcomings, I'm inclined to give Boulangerie Bon Matin a second chance. With time, I hope to see improvements in their service and culinary offerings, transforming it into the gem it has the potential to be.
A recent addition to the high street; BBM offers a table service café and counter service boulangerie.
A busy vibrant atmosphere is complemented with piped soft piano music in an industrial-chic setting adding well to the ambience.
The (halal) food offering was quite tasty, with good flavours coming through. However, the eggs florentine and English style cooked breakfast were both unfortunately served on the tepid side of cool despite the eggs being cooked solid.
The table team were friendly but during the busy morning visit they were too busy to make our concerns of lukewarm food known or get additional drinks.
The counter choices look fabulous and may perhaps prove to be the best way to enjoy this boulangerie.
BBM offers level access from the street with compact tables / chairs and ground floor facilities.
