Absolutely loved it. The food from the cafe was amazing, best all week I feel. The gardens were fab maybe not at their best with the poor weather and it being August not May or June, but fab none the less.
The cafe is well presented with a great range of cakes, light refreshments and hot and cold drinks. The staff are friendly and welcoming with the cafe being really clean and well presented. There is seating available inside and i think outside.
The cafe was lovely, great home prepared food. And really friendly staff
The gardens themselves are beautiful!
Fantastic food and drinks and the service was exceptional. Even on a rainy day the garden was beautiful and the view from the cafe was unbeatable.
Our normal routine when holidaying on the Isle of Wight is to visit the Botanical Garden Café every day for our morning coffee. The food and drink here is top quality and well presented. The staff are friendly, efficient and really quite amazing. Sadly, at peak times, they could do with some help. They work like dogs, but need more staff to clear tables, sweep floors and wash up. Even when they're totally up against it they all remain cheerful and polite.
Service and setting is great but the food menu is poor. Nothing really suitable for kids and both my wife and I didn’t really fancy much off the menu either. Cake and coffee is good although on todays visit they didn’t have any cakes I fancied either so I had a coffee for lunch, my wife had crisps and my kids had an ice cream, not great.
Beautiful setting but very expensive for the size of the lunch. The prawn cocktail main (£12+) was so small we thought they'd made a mistake. Waitress kindly brought some extra, but we were really shocked at the price for how little food you got for the lunch items, it was really small amounts.
Had coffee cake and tea. Cake was delicious. Sat inside the cafe which was a chaotic experience with crashing sounds of crockery and cutlery being smashed down onto shelves etc. Meanwhile the dulcet tones of jazz wafted out of the speakers. Have never heard such a miss match. What is really funny is there is a quiet reading corner with a library to study plants. Thats if you can study with the noise.
