We recently stayed here for 2 nights at the end of August (2022) and had the most special time. The views are spectacular, you really feel immersed in the countryside. The cabin itself was beautiful and very clean. We had great weather and sat outside with a glass of wine taking in the peaceful surroundings. The private bathroom was ideal for that glamping experience. The hosts were fantastic from start to finish - great communication. Would absolutely recommend and we hope to be back, perhaps a winter escape next time. Thank you Borders Glamping!
We had a great time, the hobbit style was really well done and even ended up watching one of the Lord of the rings films. The area was secluded and you really felt like you had the place to yourself. The pizza oven was a lovely touch, with all the wood provided to make some great pizza. The pooch loved the place as well and was well accommodated for. There were some spectacular walks around the area, which were all suggested in the guest welcome book. Had an amazing time there. Would highly recommend.
Stayed at the Hobbitt House and it was wonderful. Although it's next to a working farm - it felt truly isolated. There is separate parking and approx 100 yard walk to the house. Good sized enclosed garden to the front with amazing views. The house itself is very well equippped and the bed was the most comfiest one we've stayed in. We were lucky with the weather and had clear skies on a night, giving amazing views of the stars.
Newcastleton is a short drive away with a well equipped Spar shop, community owned petrol station and The Olive Tree Cafe is well worth a visit
Excellent stay at The Hobbit house. All you need, very clean and cozy, plus amazing starry skies. Lovely view across the fields with our morning cuppa. Went to Hadrian's wall to the Roman army museum and Vindolanda. Kielder water and forest has superb walks and views. All in all a very enjoyable break away.
Enchanting hobbit hole has everything inside for a very comfortable stay. Located on a farm it is ideal for a stress free break. It also has a barbecue, pizza oven and fire pit. For us its a five star all day long the attention to detail is faultless and we would love to come back again.
Hidden gem in the Scottish countryside within driving distance of Kielder Forest Park. Newcastleton less than 5 minutes away in the car if you need any essentials.
Comfy bed, the one and only thing I'd change is to use a summer duvet during the hotter months as we found it a bit warm even with the windows slightly open - saying that we definitely appreciated the wood burner on the day it decided to pour down all day!
Having the outside decking area was great and having brought a portable BBQ with us we were able to sit outside to enjoy our food whilst taking in the scenery.
Quiet surroundings despite being on a working farm and it was just what we needed!
Back to basics camping pod. Excellent spot for introducing youngsters to 'wild camping' with only one pod on the whole field and riverbank. Fireplace for keeping midges at bay and excellent views with all sorts of birdlife about as well as livestock across the river to watch. Access north and south for mountain bikes along old railway line. Gas shower was good. Highly recommended.
We stayed here in October 2019 for a week. Ourr 3 year old son loved sleeping next to a round window and its so quiet and peaceful. The log burning stove made the nights nice and cosy. Take some DVD's with you for those long dark evenings. Excellent weeks break for us.
