A lovely, old-fashioned chippy that sticks to what it does best. Staff are efficient and friendly; the food is always freshly cooked. The batter on the fish is crisp and not too heavy.
Cant beat the price and are usually very consistent. Recently though there has been occasions where the chips have been terrible and the batter really heavy and dry on the fish. Usually a 4/5 but inconsistency has definately crept in.
Great chippy, 10 strong queue when I arrived, 20 strong when I left. Doesn't put me off, it just confirms how good the chippy is .
Just brought 2 breaded cod and chips.DO NOT BUY BREADED COD AWFUL.It is not cod fillet it is mashed fish in breadcrumbs from out a packet already cooked and refried.cost almost £10 would have took it back if we lived closer.It’s a shame as all other food has always been lovely very disappointed.
Excellent fish and chips. If you have the large fish its always cooked while you wait. Batter delicious. Chips always cooked to perfection. Very obliging and friendly owners. Would be hard to find better fish and chips in Northampton.
This review is not based on one visit this is based on months worth of experience . we've all been to our local chippy friday/Saturday night for our supper but honestly this is the best I've ever tried fresh food cooked to an old fashioned standard (which is an art sadly lost)constantly busy which speaks for itself do yourselves a favour try it you won't be disappointed
Cash only but the food was excellent. Highly recommended.
Lovely fish and chips. Visited on Friday night just after 5pm. Packed. When they are queueing outside the door you know it's excellent. I had plain cheeseburger and chips. Very good size portion. Well worth a trip. I'm never disappointed. Never had a mad meal.
