A little overpriced for the Hastings price point I would say. Staff seemed flustered and forgot my drinks order when handing over my food, and had to show my receipt despite it not being particularly busy - it may have just been a one off but I would’ve preferred a friendlier service personally. The salmon and eggs was nice, nothing to write home about though. May pop in for another coffee.
Very nice place to sit outside on the sunny day. Sadly had to endure shirtless men next to us, unpleasant. Service was very slow, seems like they were understaffed. Coffee was really good, but my poached eggs were more like boiled eggs! My husband liked his shakshuka, so might give them another chance.
Just had breakfast here with my wife whilst picking something up in Hastings. I have to say that’s the best breakfast I’ve had in a cafe for years. It was cooked to perfection and I wish I could cook perfectly poached eggs like theirs. We own our own cafe and I’m the cook so we should know. It’s immaculately clean with nice toilets and friendly staff.
Wonderfully cosy local cafe by the seaside. The staff are friendly and helpful. Chef was even helping out with bringing out the food. Good food at good prices. Recommend the fish finger sandwich (!!) and the hot chocolate. Will definitely be back again.
I've never witnessed such poor customer service in my life. After ordering an oat flat white, was told I that didn't and too look at my receipt. No apology for getting the order wrong and had to go and pay the additional 50p for the extra milk. Mental. I did as I was with my friend and a bit perplexed by the whole mindset of encounter. Then after I paid the coffee was forgotten. I also ordered food. And my poor friend had the same thing. Wrong order but no apology. I'm very reasonable about these things going wrong and accidents but awful customer and business accountability. For the sake of an apology and a smile, I will be a non returner I'm afraid.
Nice location and nice decor.
Unfortunately I would suggest avoiding the pancakes as the texture was not right at all. Said fluffy on the menu but came out grainy and bitty. The poached eggs were perfect though, proper spot on!
Also seemed a little short staffed and took a little longer than expected. All in all, a nice place but order something other than the pancakes.
Insanely good food - I had the mushrooms - and the coffee was excellent.
I walked in with my two kids and despite seeing several tables that had clearly finished I was told nothing was available and wouldn't be for a long time. I was made to feel really unwelcome. My husband went in five minutes later looking for us and guess what? Two empty tables. It's a shame because we've been before and had a lovely time.
