Had a great time, really welcoming staff who were great fun. The customers were chatty and very friendly. The juke box playing some cracking music. Overall a great atmosphere, highly recommend.
Popped in to the bar hoping to catch the footie on the TV. Was told no as 3 people in the pub were watching the darts, and they only had one signal for the 2 tvs. Decided on a quick drink. Got a g&t. Went back to the bar to ask for some lime for it. Bar tender got the cordial out. Do you really need to explain the concept of a bit of fruit for your drink? I got looked at like I had 2 heads. Then advised cash only. Good job I had some. The dart watching regulars left soon after having completely ignored the TV.
In short, a pretty poor experience.
The staff here are so lovely and the food is absolutely amazing! There is no baby changing facilities but the staff were very accommodating and allowed me to use the function room. They are family friendly In every other way! With high chairs, appropriate plates, cutlery and nutritious food and staff who know how to talk to little ones. We will definitely be returning on our next visit to Alnwick! highly recommend!

This is a super friendly local, with helpful and welcoming staff. Be aware that they do NOT accept cards for drink payment in the bar. Nearest ATM, is inside Morrison supermarket...card will be charged £1.75 for withdrawal from debit card.

Jackie and family are excellent hosts and veey friendly. They did a great job accomodating us. It was our first time in a pub and we don't regret it a bit. The location was excellent, in the city centre and not noisy at all. The room was spacious, light and cozy, the shared bathroom clean and big. The breakfast was excellent in a friendly atmosphere. We left feeling very happy
Me and Alicia had a lovely time here at Blue Bell, Alnwick. Staff are lovely and very accommodating; Sam (front of house) brought us a bread knife when we needed one to prepare for our friend's wedding buffet & kept some cheesecake for us in the fridge when we needed it. Room was spotless and facilities good. Parking available right next to inn. Night was very quiet as a few floors up. Very comfy bed too which is the most important thing! Thanks a lot for a great night and breakfast :)
Stopped twice this month as we booked Friday and Saturday on the market and saved ourselves the journey home by stopped in this friendly family pub. Prefer this to a standardised chain of hotels with boring rooms lacking any personality. Could get used to reclining on a chaise long like in one of the rooms. Because it's family run that's what you feel like so on our 3rd visit we asked for our "usual" at the bar and got it. Food here is cooked to order and very large portions, never yet made it to a pudding!
Talk about feeling at home, great welcome and chatty staff. Pity it's not more local. Love it, thanks to Jackie and team, keep it up and yes we would like it better with ensuite too.
We have just come back from a 2 night stay at the Blue Bell Alnwick...we received a warm and friendly welcome. The rooms were spacious and well presented and extremely clean, we were upgraded on our 2nd night to the 4 poster bedroom which was just lovely. Jackie the landlady was the perfect host made us at home, even the locals made us welcome...a huge and delicious breakfast ..thank you for an enjoyable stay.....highly recommended to all.
