Free to park on seafront makes this an ideal spot to park up and walk to Dunster Beach and on to Minehead along the beach, trail and golf course. Lovely beach side cafe to come back to.
Very clean beach, with the good scenery and peaceful atmosphere during the wintery weekend...
Great for the morning walk when high tide.
Blue anchor bay is a lovely place, a large expanse of beach but no shops, a pub, a caravan park, public toilets, and 2 seafront cafés and sometimes a ice cream van, and that's it, but a nice quiet day out by the sea ????
Repeatedly got stuck in the thickest clay I have ever seen, knee deep in a lot of places. If you are looking for some mud therapy its amazing but not for a walk along the beach, you will be stuck for a while
Quiet, lovely walking along the railway line to Dunster, we had a railway carriage for the week. DRIFTWOOD cafe is superb. Great for fishing it seems, plenty of anglers around. Also a really nice caravan park that is dog friendly. Recommended.
Great place for walks. When the tide is out, you can walk to Watchet. Cliffs are unstable, so take care. Lots of fossils to be found. Alternatively, take a stroll along the seafront. There is usually an ice cream van and a couple of cafes open. If you walk to the left, there is a path that will take you to Dunster beach along side the heritage railway line.
Lovely beach for a walk with the dog, occasionally you will see the steam trains go by, this is a pebble beach with no sand areas, also be aware of the fast tides it's easy to get caught closer to the sea wall, overall we love this beach when we visit the family caravan.
It's a beach. Great in the summer but when the tide goes out, there are deep mud flats between the sand and the sea and you can't get to the water - don't even try as the mud is deep and dangerous. Keep kids and dogs under a close eye. It's possible to walk to Dunster on the footpath.
