Amazing food, fantastic cocktails and wonderful atmosphere
Stumbled accross this place. It's very good. Lovely restaurant, very well decorated, cosy, friendly and great food. Good small menu, good selection of drinks and very friendly staff.
We arrived soon after opening when the restaurant was very quiet. The food was great, nicely presented with a nice but simple choice of plates. Prices quite high but you do get what you pay for. The staff were nice but as it was quiet, they were busy chatting amongst themselves, forcing us to ask for more drinks, the desert menus and the bill.
The deserts were not up to the standard of the rest of the food.
Will definitely go back, but will find desert somewhere else.
My friend and I went on a Sunday afternoon for a lunch to celebrate her birthday, and found Biltons to be well deserving of the other good reviews left here, on which i made my decision to go there. The staff were so kind and friendly, and couldn't do enough for us. They were very professional and attentive. Yes, the menu is small, but really well cooked and seasoned. My friend had the brie to start which came with a lovely chutney, and I had the delicious french onion soup which comes with delightful melted blue cheese bread things. We both had beef roast for mains and everything was cooked to perfection, including the roast potatoes which can be iffy in pubs i find. Good gin selection, and i highly recommend the Scrumpy cocktail ♡ Decor is lovely, and the toilets were clean. Good parking and easy to find. Highly recommended!!
When we arrived we were put out in the conservatory as the main restaurant was full. Nobody came to serve us so I went to the bar and ordered our food and drink there. We waited approx 40 minutes for food to come, and I ordered another glass of wine at the same time. It came but only after another long wait and a reminder. My husband had specified spinach and was served beans, the food was late coming and the service was very poor - waitresses were very slow and didn't seem to know what they were doing. We didn't bother ordering dessert or coffee - it would have been delivered for breakfast probably... After leaving I am fairly sure we had been over charged. There was no wine list so I can't be sure, but my medium Shiraz was charged at the same rate as my husband's large wine. The duck was charged at £20 and the chicken skewers at £15 when I thought they were cheaper than that on the menu. I can't be bothered to go back and complain, but we certainly won't rush to go back to this place. That's a shame because the food was pretty good.
Booked for a Saturday evening on the open table which was very easy to do. Arrived a little earlier than 8 so we sat at our table. No body came to take a drink order, had to remind the staff we were there by asking for a drink. Ordered food only to find pork belly sold out for starters, mains came, was really nice but meat a little too pink that it didn’t come off the bone, nobody asked if food was ok during the meal. Desserts we needed to ask for the menu. So we would say staff yes friendly but need to polish up on service. Also a lot of items were being dropped behind the bar. For the pricing being a little more than usual I expected a little more attention to detail.
The food and service at Bilton's are consistently amazing. High quality and fresh. The Ginger Rogers cocktail is so refreshing. I order one every time. Lovely, cozy atmosphere.
Not my kind of place. Far too hot due to fire being on , it was quite a mild day. Sunday lunch about £14 , plated up already. Beef far too rare for me, roast spuds a bit too hard. We all left still hungry. Very little food for the money.
Lovely evening meal with friends. Attentive staff, relaxed atmosphere. Recommend the Pork Belly Bites as a starter! Willing to change potato choices with mains. Second visit, will go again.
