Wife and I visited here after a nice walk with the dog. We were warmly welcomed with our greyhound and he was given some water and some treats. As for us humans, we got a couple of ciabattas which were huge and came with salad and fries. The man serving us was very attentive, made us feel welcome and the food was tasty. A lovely cafe, well worth a visit if you're a local or passing through.
Popped into this lovely coffee shop this morning for breakfast. Can't speak highly enough of our experience. The food was amazing - quite literally the best fry up in the west of Scotland. Food was cooked to perfection (we sampled the full breakfast which includes tea or coffee in price), service was on point and excellently priced! Will definitely be returning for another visit!
Almost impossible to decide between the food and the host Roger as to what makes Bernie's a great place to stop for a meal, as not only is the food absolutely delicious but from the moment you walk through the door you are taken care of and entertained. I would highly recommend stopping at Bernie's when visiting or staying in West Kilbride.
Isn’t it sad when local people try to bring an excellent venue down. I have visited a few times and Rodger is an endearing, gentle man who is making his way in the turbulent world of local business. The coffee is absolutely excellent and the fresh cooking and baking superb. He opens early and closes late and works extremely hard in between. The venue is very clean and clearly a lot of thought has gone into the decor and vibe. Car parking across the road from the venue. The toilets are clean, the prices keen. Can’t recommend enough - please visit and support this local venture.
I had the pleasure of making it into this little cafe this morning. The dog I had with me was welcomed in and promptly given a fresh water bowl and offered a biscuit. As for the human menu, you'll find no complaints from me. I had the full breakfast and as new comer to Scotland loved that I was able to have a taste of so much. The only thing nicer than the full belly and coffee was the warmth of the owner and some of the locals who were also dining while I was.
Prices are incredibly reasonable and I loved the bright and cheery decor. I will definitely be back before I leave.
Great cafe, food is excellent, prices are very reasonable. Service included a history lesson, stand up comedy show and this all supplied by the owner. On leaving we were walked to the door and with a handshake he wished us well. Ronnie is a superhost
Absolutely brilliant little place… Roger is lovely and makes you feel really welcome. Definitely be back. Excellent coffee.????
Well what can I say about this cafe the food is really good the coffee is great and the host Rodger makes you feel like you’re a long lost friend. He is always the same happy go lucky guy and if you need a man hug like I did when I lost my son he gave me one.
