Best KPortal Reviews
Been going here periodically over the time I've lived in Winton. They have a nice little selection of buns and cakes (also hot snacks, like sausage rolls) and somewhere between 3pm and 4pm have discounts on bread rolls eg 8 for 50p and often leftover buns at a significantly reduced price too! There is a bit of a variation of customer service, with the lovely reddish haired lady having the nicest customer service skills and the lady with the long blond ponytail being reasonably pleasant. Then, yes, sadly, there is a woman with a somewhat receding hairline who is a bit 'off', although thankfully I somehow don't encounter her very often!
I bought a 30p loaf, a great bargain. It smelled lovely the whole walk home and tastes delicious. It is very fresh and soft. I was served by a lovely lady who was very friendly with great customer service skills. I will definitely be going back.
Unfortunately I don't have a picture to share, however I have been coming to bennetts for a long time, I used to go to the one in poole bus station but that has gone now. So I popped into wintons branch I've been here a few times and I've noticed the quality of goods has fallen, I brought a sausage roll as they are normally nice, bit this one was of poor quality, not hot and covered in grease. I took a bite and the pastry was chewy, no flavour and not enjoyable.
I know the company is closing down at some point and it shows because its gone down hill in my eyes. It's a shame because this use to be the best bakery arround
Wanted to buy a 30p loaf from the window and asked if she could cut it for me... Not for 30p said the lady, fine, I get it, so I offered to pay her £1if she'd cut it for me but all she said was "nope"! For goodness sake, when is this rude lady going to retire!!!!!
I happened to walk by and caught sight of Lardy cake, Chelsea buns and proper Bread Pudding, amongst other cakes and savouries!! You hardly ever see good traditional cakes any more, so it's a delight to find a bakery selling them instead of the usual variety found everywhere else. Try these, and delight in the fact you are tasting our culinary heritage. Worth the slightly extra price for food that's not been churned out by a factory line. I've returned three times now and the quality is consistently good.
I've been to this bakery many times. They have good food and some great offers later in the day. The reason for the one star review is one particular member of staff. She's always there and she's always equally rude. Every time. I find it incredible that this member of staff would want to work in the service industry. I've read many other reviews all complaining about the same member of staff. Very surprised that Bennett's don't do something about it.
I had the best bacon and cheese puff I've had for years. I can't comment on anything else, but I shall certainly be back.
I had a disappointing experience at the shop today. Despite being a paying customer, I was met with rudeness and unprofessional behavior from the elderly lady who assisted me. She rolled her eyes and roughly packaged my order, tossing it onto the counter.
While I understand that everyone has their own circumstances, it was still disappointing to be treated in such a manner. I felt that the elderly lady's behavior was unacceptable, and it left a negative impression on my visit to the shop.
DISGUSTING AND EMBARRASSING BEHAVIOUR!
