Was at Urgent Treatment Unit
Apt reception (if no queue)
Not so crowded seating area
Children under 18 are allowed ONLY 1 parent/guardian (overly insistent on that)
Good service overall
Don’t forget to take safety precautions as others might require more “urgent treatment” than you do!
Only had to wait a bit under three hours, had worse. The waiting area is far too small and hot for the number of people waiting, crowded, overheated, no privacy for people when they tell the receptionist their problem. Nurse was efficient and pleasant.
Generally speaking I would recommend as a good place to go and get coughed all over while stressing out.
I received excellent treatment today in the dermatology department. All staff were extremely pleasant . Leigh kept all patients updated whilst waiting in reception and put everyone at ease with her charming manner.
I am very satisfied with my time spent at the Hospital. A shining example of how the NHS can be run
Went for a blood test. Woman told me to take my jacket off and I explained that I have had extensive chemo and the only vein I had was in my hand. She said that she he woman before said this and she got blood from her arm! I have not had any veins in my arms for 30 years and even the anaesthetist at kings has to use my hand! Really upsetting.
Absolutely brilliant care provided at BB. Came in with a horrible tooth abscess on a Sunday morning at 10:00 am. I had the possibility of getting a same day appointment which I am very happy for. I was seen within 15 minutes of appointment time. The nurse and dentist were both lovely and skilled. They looked everything over, told me the diagnosis and then gave me plenty of advice in how to feel better. The dentist wrote me a script for the medication I need and I was out within 20 minutes but feeling a lot more positive. Was able to pick up medication same day. Again this was all on a Sunday which we all know how hard it is to get seen by a doctor. Thank you so much to the dental team at BB.
I was referred by 111 for a blood test due to high BD and being unwell. When I attended my appointment, the receptionist at the Walk-in Centre said 'They don't do blood tests and she didn't understand why 111 referred me to them'. She dismissed my appointment and asked me to wait like the other patients to see a nurse. It was a fully seated centre with a few standing, a woman was yelling and the atmosphere was stressful. I'm appalled by the lack of care service when we need it. I had to leave with high palpitations and anxiety.
I am very disappointed with my entire experience after visiting UCC on 30th of December. Initially triaged by very young locum nurse who wasnt even aware that there was an x-ray on the premises and advised me that I will probably not be seen (it was 2.40 and centre closes at 8pm) and that I should probably make my way to a&e anyway. As it waa extremly difficult for me to walk due to trauma to my ankle and I wasnt able to waight beare I decided to wait. It took almost 5 hours to be seen by trauma nurse (no complaits there, very knowledgable). No diagnoses on the day or any time afterwards. Report from x-ray signed off after 5 days only after PALS got involved (not sure why centre is called urgent care....). Every time I called to ask about results and furher plan, I was told that nurse will call me back but nobody did. One receptionist, when asked about her name said to me that I am "funny" asking that question and refused to provide her name. Every time I waa told that it is not a good time... As an NHS staff, I was very let down and disappointed with how disorganized everything was and that in the end I had not received any help, advice or treatment. Centre clearly more focused on seeing people with cough and colds and other infections than injties or trauma.
I was very nevious today about getting a blood test after having some painful treatments. I had the most lovely lady who was cheerful and bonded with me instantly. She made me feel comfortable. She was adapabale and ask if i wanted warning or just do, loved that! She took it very fast and it didnt bruce. 11/10 hospital all friendly
I didnt get her name but honesly thank you!
Also went to urology i wasnt as confront but that wasnt there fault they was friendly and well trained!
