Best KPortal Reviews

Stayed at beaches for a Friday and Saturday night and had a great time at the B&B. We were a couple staying with our small dog, the room was nice and spacious with a big double bed, small sofa, chair and the usual wardrobe / drawers and a small tv and although not a luxury room was certainly clean and very comfortable. The only slight downside was that there was no shower in the room but this was no big deal.||||Best part of the stay was the breakfast. A nice an fresh spread of fruit and cereals was waiting for us on the table when we arrived for breakfast and then a lovely cooked breakfast of our choice was made by the host.||||Overall it was great value and our only regret was that we didn't get the opportunity to eat in the restaurant on either of our nights stay, would certainly not hesitate to return.
Spent 2 nights at Beaches this past weekend and agree fully with the other reviews - the room was clean and comfortable and represent great value for money. As other reviewers have mentioned, they are not ultra luxurious, but they are good value and the hosts Donald and Susan are so welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was extremely good - northumberland sized portions of course :) I missed not having a shower, but that's very much a personal choice and I'd happily stay here again. The restaurant which opens in the evening gets very good reviews, so def worth a visit if you're in the area
Stayed here for a night with my Daughter. If you want 5* luxury, with impersonal service, then look elsewhere. We stayed in a high class hotel the previous night but the warm, personal welcome from Donald and the superb breakfast at beaches beat the hotel hands down.||||The room was comfortable and clean, with an en-suite bathroom - no shower but plenty of hot water for the bath. Breakfast, served by Donald, was second to none.||||Our family have been visiting this stunning area for the last thirty seven years and it never fails to impress. This was the first time we stayed at The Beaches, but we would have no hesitation in repeating the experience. If you're looking, for clean and comfortable without the frills, then I would recommend this B & B to you.
Stayed at Beaches for a 3 day walking break in Northumberland and we (5 blokes) were well looked after by our hosts Donald and Susan. The rooms were a little outdated but clean and comfortable. Donald was very helpful with information about the area and Susan cooked an excellent breakfast and supper in their cosy Bistro, though I think at present the supper option is only available at weekends.||Would also recommend the Sun pub for food and also Bistro 23 looked good.
Four of us stayed in Alnmouth and on our last night 20th July we went to Beaches for a meal. Not a place to be missed we enjoyed the evening and food. Donald was the perfect host, and very warm and friendly. It was the first time two of us had visited the North East what a gem like going back in time but don't tell every one. We will be back.
Alnmouth in Northumberland. With its colourful houses, wildlife aplenty, and tranquil beach, Alnmouth sits within one of Northumberland's Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There's always an opportunity to appreciate the coastline here, be it walking, cycling, or horse riding.
Lovely long clean beach. Car Parking £1.50 all day right next to the beach. Dogs welcome, children playing and people walking. Quiet no arcades or shops just peace and quiet. Great on a nice day. Toilets about 10 minutes walk away. Take your rugs chairs and a picnic for a great day out.
The beaches in Northumberland and beautiful and unspoilt and Alnmouth is one of the nicest. A great sandy beach with a shallow stream running through it. There was just enough surf to boogie board when I was there and I'd love to go back with the kids. The North Sea is a little cooler than the South Coast and the air temperature is a few degrees colder to but there's not the crowds or commercial exploitation. Well worth visiting the area!
