Staying in the local area for a few nights, we thought what could be better than a fish and chips takeaway. The Balmoral had fantastic service and even cooked our fish for a few extra minutes to make it extra crispy. Portions are huge and the quality is excellent. Prices are fair and the food was cooked fresh and quickly. Highly recommended.
Used to be our favourite Chinese for years.
Since changed hand we been always disappointed. But my wife wanted the fish and chips.
Awful chips, just the end cut and not what expected. Utter rubbish

I had some chips and Chinese food. It was delicious and the staff was so lovely. The best shop I’ve ever been too ????????????????
Very happy with this fish and chips. It had 1 and a half fillets which is pretty great when you're knackered after a hike! A portion was £7.20 which is cheap compared to where I live in Edinburgh. They were also freshly battered and cooked for us. The batter is a little different to most chippies, definitely less greasy which is a plus for me.
Chose a take away Fri night to save cooking & was so glad of choice. 5 stars for such a delicious & sufficient take away.
Food was so delicious & non greasy, which made it so enjoyable.
Meal consisted of:-
Salt & pepper ribs
Fried rice
Fried soft noodles
Szechuan chicken
Salt & pepper chicken balls
Topped with fantastic service for pick up, told 15 mins & ready as I walked in to pick up
I passed here and bought a noodle and chicken and pork fried rice. It was amazing. Definitely back again ????????
Don't go anywhere else for a Chinese, take some cash out, call in advance and you won't be disappointed. If you have young kids ask for a chow mein with no veg (beef or pork) and just enjoy.
Best Chinese in the area and nice people!
Use to be a lovely Chinese takeaway but the last few times we have been since the owners took over, the food is below par. Tasteless food, the chips are inedible
