We had a really comfortable stay. We only met Rosemary and Nick, but both were so welcoming and accommodating. WiFi signal was excellent as booster box near our room. Breakfast was clearly cooked using quality ingredients and beautifully cooked. Fruit salad had good quality soft fruit (not the normal Apple and orange fillers) the cleanliness was exemplary, I never use hotel glasses or cups, but I didn't hesitate as you could tell the high standards were evident. Excellent location for Tintagel village and coastal paths. Good sized room with beautiful view. Overall one of the most quietest, comfortable stays in Cornwall for a while. I would love to go back and would highly recommend. I really shouldn't be raving about this property as it may reduce the availability for me to book again on my next trip!
We spent a very nice week at this family run, older hotel. The welcome and service are both first class, room was with a veiw of the coast and old but nice. Large soft bed, nice en-suite and plenty of storage and a reasonable size TV. Great WIFI in the room and the rest of the hotel. Nice little cosy bar for pre and post dinner drinks, with John behind the bar always great sevice. ||The food at this hotel is unbelivably good ! We had a week of the best dinners ever and the breakfast was amazing as well. Service from all the staff was perfect, Nick, Ellie, John and Rosemary all fantastic !!! ||The hotel is about 20 min walk into Tintagel on the road or a bit longer by the coastal path, but the veiws from the path are photogenic. Head south on the path and find the beach that is only there at low tide !!
Without doubt the best experience in the whole of North Cornwall. Perfect location just off the coastal path, comfortable and spacious rooms (we have probably stayed in all of them over the past 35 years). Unbelievable kind and brilliant hosts John Rosemary and Nick so attentive and great fun. The food is wonderful and all local fresh produce with plenty of choice for evening meal with substantial breakfasts to set you up for the day. |This is how an hotel should be run and will never disappoint no matter how many times you return. |Absolute perfection.
My daughter and I stayed at the hotel for a night, so sadly didn't get to experience the evening meal or fully appreciate the hotel. However, our room was spectacular with beautiful views and was spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable and the room had lots of lovely little touches. Breakfast was delicious with a great choice of food. Staff were attentive and friendly. We really couldn't fault it - except that my daughter says I spent the whole time telling her not to touch the table cloth at breakfast as it was so pristine! Thank you for a lovely stay - I hope we'll be back!
A huge thank you to Rosemary and Nick! We have just checked out from our stay at Atlantic View Hotel and absolutely loved it. We tagged this booking on to ‘break our journey’ down to Cornwall and having not stayed in this area before feel we have found a proper gem of both a hotel and area. We were met and looked after so very well. The hotel is absolutely immaculate. We are used to contemporary hotels and were so surprised to find how ‘at home and relaxed’ we felt in this victorian decorated hotel. Walked along the coastal path to Tintagel and back along the road to hotel. Had a few drinks and played a vast number of pool games together (I still didn’t win!), chilled and laughing with absolutely no stress or pressure- the whole time spoiled with incredible views of the Atlantic. We didn’t get the hoped for sunset but had the clouds moved we would have been in pole position! We will definitely be back! The dinner menu looked amazing and the guests there for longer told us it was outstanding food!
A wonderful Victorian country house hotel not far from Tintagel ( this is sat nav 'Here Be Dragons' territory so switch it off ! ). It's splendid location is ideal for those seeking real peace and tranquility. Greeted warmly by Rosemary and Nick we made our way to our ensuite admiring the best of Victorian style. The room was clean and most presentable with a stunning view of the Atlantic beyond and the rugged coast stretching either way. The meals that Rosemary served were awesomely scrumptious ( jaffa cake icecream anyone ? ) and greatly enhanced the pleasurable experience of staying here. Whilst seeming isolated in truth all that Cornwall has to offer is easily reached as we did Bodmin and Rock in the same day. Definitely a memorable lodging !
This hotel has a great position with fields opposite looking out over the coast and providing easy access to the coastal path. The food was really well cooked by Rosemary and we enjoyed being able to have evening meal there too, but 5 courses starting at 7:30 and finishing around 9:15 p.m. didn’t suit our digestion. The premium room had a nice sea view but we were not impressed that there was no ventilation at all in the ensuite. Good that it had it’s own bar’ but beware of the price of lemonade (not displayed). On checking out we found that each night it was £3 for my archers and £2.85 for my lemonade, for which I usually pay 10p at the club at home. So a mixed bag overall. We had a lovely break in a beautiful area but the hotel overall wasn’t what we had expected.
There is only one word to describe the Atlantic View Hotel....EXCELLENT!
The hotel is in a charming large house located close to the spectacular cliff walk and about 1.75 miles from the town center.
We stayed in room 8 on third floor. Large, room with B&B decor. Large modern bathroom. Very comfortable big bed.
The cliff walk is dramatic and should not be missed. As with the 12 century church.
We choose to have the five course dinner here for the two nights that we stayed and we were not disappointed. The cuisine, all homemade by our host/owner Rosemary, using local ingredients, was excellent...and that is an understatement. Breakfast was of equal fine quality and delicious. Both were served in a large, but warm, nicely decorated dining room.
Our thanks to our hosts/Owners Rosemary and John who made our stay even more enjoyable!
We can highly recommend the Atlantic View Hotel. We will be returning.
