I got to Boston late one night around 10:30pm. I was very hungry and started exploring what kitchens were still open. Decided to take a walk on Hanover Street. Around 11pm took a right on Prince Street and opened the door to Artu. There was no one there except a couple of people behind the bar that alerted me that the kitchen was still open. I had a very low expectation of what I was about to consume.
To my surprise the food was phenomenal!
I ordered a caprese salad that had super fresh mozzarella and tasty tomatoes. Short Rib ravioli was right after as a main course, and also amazing!
As I was finishing my meal, Artu filled up with patrons looking to grab a drink and a late night snack.
I was glad that spontaneity and a little luck landed me at Artu! Great place with awesome food.
Update 12/21/2023
Brought my two older sons here. Just as awesome as the first time!!!????
Typical North End Italian restaurant, nothing made it really stand out to me. I got the gnocchi with meatballs and it was really good, my cousin got the eggplant parm and let me try it and that was also really good. I went on a Saturday and was surprised there was no wait as it’s a pretty popular place. Service was good.
The food is amazing. The atmosphere is also great.
Service was good and we had a secondary server named Lucio I believe, he was outstanding.
We had chinked Parm, Lasagna and a Rib portobela mushroom ravioli.
Definitely recommend!
Great Italian food here! I was very content with my meal and so was the rest of my family. Although it wasn’t anything crazy special, I enjoyed my short rib ravioli. Our salad unfortunately was way too doused in dressing. As per the service though, they were great at refilling our waters, but it would have been nice if they had offered grated cheese on our entrees. Besides those small complaints, I was very happy and definitely recommend this place to try!
The food was almost inedible- we got grilled octopus & chicken Marsala… the pasta tasted like the cheap, out of the box type. And it was pricey for what we had. The best part of the meal? The cocktails. Don’t go unless you’re only drinking
Stopped in for dinner on a Monday evening, no dinner reservation needed. Food was flavorful, service was very nice and professional, and the food came out quickly. Dining area was simple, no frills. The dining area filled up quickly while we were there. When we left, the bar area was pretty busy. First time here, and highly recommend.
Started with two apps, octopus and meatballs.
For entrees, ordered the beet salad, spaghetti all’amatriciana, puttanesca, and the fusilli + sausage + broccoli rabe.
Prices were consistent with the other medium-range priced restaurants, but the food and service made every cent worth it!
I had to stop eating to make this review, I have never been this blown away by the taste of food. I’m no foody but I had to take the time and tell Artu how good everything is and was. Good Job
If you are visiting Boston from out of town, and want an amazing meal in Little Italy, I am forwarding this recommendation from a local to us…… and it did us justice! Myself, husband and our 7 year old son had a wonderful experience because it began with wonderful service. We had an amazing server Alyssa who offered amazing recommendations of the menu and wine list. The food was perfect just what you want to experience, we started w a meat and cheese board which was perfect! We had spaghetti and meatballs, stuffed veal and melt in your mouth short rib raviolis for dinner! It was awesome and Alyssa made our experience more awesome by giving us the perfect time to indulge and eat as a family but also spending time sharing stories and made us feel like “friends” from minute one to moment end! Thank you Artu!
