Highly recommend this salon! I took my wiggly, busy, almost 2 year old here who desperately needed his haircut but is NOT a fan of having his hair touched. He screamed the whole time and gave them quite the fight. I honestly thought they might tell us they couldn’t cut his hair. They did not shy away one bit. Instead, the staff put miss Rachel on their phone for him, encouraged him and all worked together to comfort him. They brought me a bag to save some of his hair and they were incredibly kind to our whole family. My son ended up with a beautifully done haircut, even though he was moving the whole time! They were so patient with him and did such a great job. We will definitely be coming here for our hair from now on. Thank you, thank you to the staff at artifex!
Very impressed by Angela! She knows how to cut curly hair. She gave me tips of how to keep my curls beautiful! Definitely recommend her to others! Hair products she put on my hair smell amazing and work well! Will be going back soon to pick up some hair products. Thank you Angela!!!
I made an appointment here instead of my normal place because I wanted my hair cut and styled for the Thanksgiving holiday. My cut was so bad I was forced to wear it in a bun all week. I absolutely HATE wearing my hair up, especially when dressing up for holidays, etc.
I started by telling the stylist (Sara) that my hair was all one length, no layers, and when I wore it curly it didn't lay right, so I wanted very long layers. I never get my hair cut short, so I asked her to keep as much length as possible and just layer it A LITTLE. She cut more than I would have liked, but I said that it was okay since I had breakage.
After she cut my hair, she put a product in it, diffused it dry in about 5 minutes (I told her I sometimes wear it curly) and I left with a 90s scrunched style. I had to redo it as soon as I got home. It didn't look too bad because the cut was hidden by my curls. The next day, I straightened it, and I cried. And cried. It looked like someone just grabbed pieces of my hair and chopped. There are pieces that are a good 3-4 inches shorter than the longest layer. The longest layer is so thin that it looks terrible. There are pieces cut from the longest layer, which I can't understand, but now I am going to have to chop of WAY more than I am comfortable with- a good few inches to make it look right. It just was a huge disappointment, especially during a busy and stressful holiday. This was the last thing I wanted to worry about.
Just to add to the problem, I have terrible anxiety. I was already leaving my comfort zone to try and call and talk to someone about my problem, but I called the salon and spoke to Angela, the owner. She told me to come in at any time Wednesday (AFTER Thanksgiving.) After some deliberation, I decided to go in, even though I was in a panic about it. I showed up today at around 1, and she wasn't there. I had to speak with Sara (the one who cut my hair) about it. This was the exact situation that was causing my anxiety. Sara was very nice and I didn't want to hurt her feelings, but I needed to get my money back so I could get a cut somewhere else. I just wanted to speak with Angela and leave. Sara called her and told me to come back between 3 and 5, after offering to fix my hair, but I was just not comfortable with it.
I came back at 3:15. Angela sat me in her chair to look at the cut. She kept putting emphasis on the fact that I said I wear my hair curly sometimes. That shouldn't mean anything! Yes, I asked for a cut that allowed me to wear my hair curly, but that shouldn't be an excuse for a bad cut, and that doesn't mean that I don't want to option to wear it straight! After insisting that I wasn't comfortable with her fixing it either, she agreed to a refund. We get to the front counter and she informs me that I would only be getting HALF of my money back, because apparently it's $20 for the cut, and $20 for the style. I barely even got a style! I would have been fine with that, if Sara hadn't just blown it dry and called it a day. She didn't straighten it, curl it, or anything else. It didn't look good when I left. Had I known I was only going to receive $20 back on a $40 cut, I would not have even bothered with this nightmare. I was in tears when I left. I won't be returning.
I have been a client of Kim’s for several years now. All of the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The salon is a relaxed welcoming atmosphere. Kim is amazing with coloring. I have always left loving my cut and color.
Both me and my husband have gone to this salon for almost 10 years. The salon itself is always a clean, comfortable environment, well stocked with quality hair products. The owner Angela, as well as the staff, are skilled hair stylists who take into account both the clients' needs and preferences.
Angela is a great stylist and always makes sure you are happy with the service. Everyone in the shop is welcoming and they are a great team.
I have never been happy with a haircut. I have a lot of thin curly hair. No one can cut it properly so I usually just save myself frustration and do it myself. I decided to try this place and spoke with Angela on the phone about my hair. She made me feel very comfortable and excited to try this place. Angela actually knows how to cut curly hair and I'd highly recommend you try her. She was the first person to do my hair where I actually walked out of the salon and wasn't embarrassed with how crazy I looked (no one can style it without being super frizzy). That was a super plus. Also for reference I only where my hair curly. I will definitely be back!
I had a great experience here. I've been to many trying to find someone to replace where I used to go. I had the pleasure of meeting Courtney who really listened to me and took the time to get my hair how I wanted it. I highly recommend this place.
