Perfect place to take a break during your shopping trip to Liberty’s! Typical English menu and we loved it. It’s a must do stop while shopping and take a break. The food is excellent and very tasty. If you are in Liberty, don’t miss this place. You will always remember your afternoon tea break you took here. The service is impeccable, the attention to detail is perfect, and the food is very very good! If you haven’t been, go! If you have been, go back!
Food was overpriced. Nothing special don’t waste your money in here.
Service was dissapointing at best, staff looked upset the whole time, they were slamming plates and utensils so loudly! Frowning at costumers for no reason. Taking stuff away from the table without even saying “Excuse me, are you done with…”
Atmosphere was beyond awful, you can hear 2 music playing at the same time. One from the bar and one from the kitchen. Of course both speakers were so loud. ????????‍♀️
We like the carrot cake. First of all, it looks beautiful. Also, the texture is good that it is slightly wet (not hard rock ????), and it is in the right sweetness level (I mean that it is not too sweet).
We also ordered cream tea with plain scone, and the flavor is plain and a bit dry. It would be better if there was stronger butter flavor with a mixture of sweet and salty taste for the scone.
Regarding atmosphere, it is not a clean and tidy environment when we get inside the restaurant.
We would expect a more decent service and environment for a cafe inside Liberty.
So I’m back again at another of my favourite haunts. Arthur’s Restaurant has always been amongst my favourites and today’s experience has been no different. I haven’t read the other reviews because I generally like to form my own opinions.
Liberty’s has always been a must go place at Christmas. They take the festive season almost as seriously as Macy’s in NYC. It is wonderful to just look around and get the positive feeling from the place, and you should definitely visit the Christmas shop on the 4th floor.
Anyway, Arthur’s……
I have always found the staff to be polite, efficient and very friendly. I can’t fault them. The service is fast and they are always attentive to their customers which is always very refreshing. Their prices are not exorbitant and are in line with most of restaurants around the area. The atmosphere is lively and fun and to top it all the food tastes wonderful.
Since getting a service dog I have found that some establishments aren’t that accepting of them but the staff are welcoming and recognise Pippa every time and make us both feel very welcome.
What more could you ask for ??
Try it out yourself, I don’t think you’d be disappointed.
Happy Christmas …..
What an awful experience. The sandwiches were old -- some bread was soggy from the filling, and other bread was dry. The scone was old and hard. The clotted cream had been out so long there was a crust on top. And service was bad - I had to ask them twice for a hot water refill. The online menu said afternoon tea would be £26.50, but they charged me £28.50 and added on a 12.5% discretionary service charge on top, which I asked them to remove because the whole thing was so dreadful. They were a bit huffy about that and kept 40p of the service charge. I will definitely not be going there again.
I’ve eaten here twice in the last month and can agree with the majority of the recent reviews. Lovely food, but extremely overpriced. Despite the tea being one of the menus highlights, they scrimp on the leaves in the pot so the tea is very weak. The service is slow and the overall vibe is lacklustre which is disappointing because the rest of the store is quite exciting.
I was order cafe and after tea ,their service so fast,I so happy enjoying cafe time ,then owner ask how about the tea and cafe,I just say,The Arthur’s cafe team is perfect !

Quite disappointing coffee just above vending machine quality, average hot chocolate. Eggs royale mean portions overcooked egg and cold. Go somewhere else
