This is a new go-to spot for a yummy, casual breakfast. Around the Corner is a classic little hidden gem. The decor is classic chickens of the 90s meets grandma's house, which was so fun to look at and talk about while we ate. The service was excellent and the food was wonderful. The best part is that it is much more affordable than the trendy brunch places that are cropping up everywhere.
Their coffee was excellent, which is a MUST for any diner or breakfast spot. I had the bananas foster pancakes, and they were absolutely delicious!!! My husband had the omelet with a side of biscuits & and gravy, and he said his food was great, too. It was a casual environment and very family-friendly. I think one really fun feature is that their menu is printed newspaper style, complete with crossword puzzles, sudoku, and ads for local businesses. We will definitely be back!
Great Diner! Great prices, real fresh squeezed juice! Cute decor! Friendly staff! Crispy hash browns, perfect eggs, fluffy biscuits, they do it all right!
4 stars on the service because they are extremely busy, and I'm pretty sure we had the sharpest waitress in the place. Some of the others looked and walked like zombies, or maybe just did not want to be there. Anyways, the food is always good, our waitress was great and honestly their expediter was amazing. She had it together and made sure everyone got the right stuff. I wouldn't mess with her on a bad day in a dark alley, pretty sure she could strip a soul clean and have you thanking her for it.
The hubby offered to take me to breakfast, which brought a smile to my face, because I’ve had my eye on “Around the Corner Restaurant“, in downtown Edmond. I’d read the reviews about this place and couldn’t wait to experience it myself. Upon entering, we were met with a pleasant greeting and informed that we could seat ourselves. After finding an open booth, we noticed our table was covered in crumbs and water residue left from the previous dining guests. No big; we had the waiter wipe it down. Meanwhile, we took our time navigating through the menu. After placing our orders, we found ourselves distracted by various crossword puzzles on the back of the menu, due to the lengthy amount of time that we waited for our meals to be served. Despite the wait, I was pleasantly surprised by how tender the chicken-fried steak, that my husband ordered, was. Dare I say, it was also well seasoned ????. I decided to indulge their breakfast burrito, with which I was able to make substitutions. It turned out great! This restaurant also offers eating outdoors. However, due to the 90 degree weather, dining inside worked best for us. Perhaps, other species felt the same as it became bothersome when a few flies found their way to our table, which for me (and I’m sure, most), was a total turn-off.
We were headed to a different restaurant and I had to turn around and made a right on Broadway. The charm of the downtown captured us. We stopped and saw Around The Corner so decided to try it. So glad we did. The place was fun, staff so nice and friendly, and the food tasted homemade with fresh ingredients. I ordered an omelet with biscuits and had them put the gravy on the side (planning not to eat it). I ate the gravy—delicious. The biscuit was lite and fluffy. The omelet was yummy. Of course before our meal we split a cinnamon roll. Wow! One of the best ever. I highly recommend this place. It also was clean. (I forgot to take pictures of my food as I was so hungry. Sometimes that happens.)
Love it. First time visiting this place. Was just looking for a place to eat breakfast after church and saw this from Google maps. Love the atmosphere, not pretentious. Menu is simple but food is good and seasoned properly. Will be our go to breakfast place in Edmond.
Fantastic, so filling! The waitress I had (didn't catch the name, but had awesome pants with smiley faces!) was super friendly and even explained egg terminology for me. ???? This kind of atmosphere isn't exactly my style but it was great nonetheless.
LOVE this place! Best breakfast I have had so far in Edmond. I’ve lived here for about 7 months and tried many breakfast places, but Around the Corner takes the cake. It has a classic, hometown diner feel. The service is excellent, the food was delicious, and I love the atmosphere of the diner. Will definitely be coming back!
