We had a ceviche tostada, which was decent. It had way more tomato and onion than it did shrimp. It wasn't bad but our expectations were higher due to the 4.5 star rating. The other item we had was the fish burrito. The burrito was just not good. We've had fish burritos all over San Diego for the past 20 years. We know a good one from a bad one and this one was not good. The breading on the fish was very thick and not at all light and crispy. The fish itself seemed like it may have been previously frozen. It definitely wasn't fresh. There was a lot of tartar sauce or something similar inside. Not like the sauce you would normally taste. In addition to the filling not being great, there wasn't that much of it. The ends of the burrito were all tortilla. I would have loved to give this place a great review because we had high hopes. When you order a fish burrito in PB, you have a certain expectation. This one was disappointing.
LOVE IT! Ask for the birria tacos wow! If u wanna look for a good Mexican place Mexicans will be there eating and they were! I lived at Mexico for over a year and was super happy place atmosphere is poor in design and attention minimal but food is good! IG @insecto
I recently dined at Areli’s Taco Shop in PB and was thoroughly impressed! The mini tacos and nachos were incredibly delicious, bursting with flavor in every bite. Not only were the dishes superb, but the owners also exuded warmth and generosity, providing ample portions that left me completely satisfied. I highly recommend Areli’s Taco Shop for anyone craving authentic Mexican cuisine served with a side of hospitality.
This review is overdue - been going here for years. I tell everyone i know. BEST CALIFORNIA BURRITO IN SAN DIEGO. No question. Ive tried them all. None compare. Friends with the owner, such a kind man. Passionate about his restaurant. One of my favorite places ever. Thank you Arellis????
Authentic tacos here that are on the cheaper side. Very nice workers and great salsa verde.
I've known the owners for nearly 30 yrs thru various incarnations of their taco shops in various neighborhoods, usually where I worked.
By coincidence , there latest shop of 10years is less than 1 block from the Apt I've been in for 15 yrs. I'm still a regular and satisfied customer. They've added so many 'comfort' foods to my life that I crave and can get nowhere else. Recommended by longevity
I had the fries and friend had the tacos. Need a bit more cheese on the fries but the meat was really yummy. The tacos were larger than we thought they would be. He like the chicken the best. They had sauces that he really liked. Not what we are used to but it wasn't bad.
Love this place. We been coming to this location for years. Food is GREAT and they have multiple options for hot sauce. Clean place and great customer service. Food has a good flavor and many options to choose from.
