If you are in the area headed toward slab city or salvation mountain you should definitely stop here. The best Mexican food I have had in a long time. The owners are sweet, kind and offer top notch service. Archie's was also frequented by Leonard Knight the creator of Salvation Mountain. There are some pictures of me knight as well inside the restaurant along with a progress photos of a section of the mountain. Amazing food, great service, very clean and offers a small part of history if your heading toward salvation mountain.
Very good Chile relleno, quick service, and cold Corona. Nice.
The food was delicious. Prices were very moderate. The only weird thing was that we had to sit in the backroom because in the front room, out of about 9 tables, three had diners and the other 6 had dirty dishes. Maybe their lunchtime wait staff called in sick? I had steak picaddo. Not sure I'm spelling that right, bit it was EXCELLENT.
Funky little small town Mexican restaurant. I come out to Salton Sea area frequently to sell to the power plants nearby. Been here a few times over the years but it is always nice for a change of pace. Courteous service and the food is homemade deliciousness. During the chillier weather season, you must get the soup: get either the chicken or albondigas depending on what they offer for the day.
Excellent food and both the owner and his wife are the nicest folks ever. I truly love the salsas and rice/beans most!! Everything is great here!!

They aren't many places to eat at in that area, but it is so good, you won't care! I let the owner choose for me and my lunch was delicious! Very authentic!
