Just fantastic food here!! I’ve eaten here several times and I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed El Nene yet. The meats are seasoned just right and cooked to perfection. They fill the tacos to capacity so you always leave feeling full and satisfied. They have several drink options. The place is always clean and inviting. The service is fast and excellent. They have a cart with any extras you need to add to your food. All I can say is this is one Mexican restaurant you can not pass up on!! Fantastic ????????
Delicious food, the carne asada platter was perfection and the tacos were 10/10. The flan was really good, one of the best I’ve ever tasted. It has a local, family vibe with no frills. Highly recommend.
Authentic Mexican at its finest. Came in expecting the same style as San Diego and was not disappointed. The condiments bar was amazing and fresh. Got some Asada tacos, and my friend got a bean burrito, and they were both fantastic! Stop in if you're in the area and say hi.
Quality, service, options, promptness of services, value, and authenticity are top here. You must try the carne asada papancha! ???? best authentic Sonoran (Mexican) food in the area ????. Skip the the big name chain places and give this mom and pop shop a try.

First time at this location. I had only visited the flowing wells location as far back as 2011. Saw this location and had to stop. Food is delicious. The salsa bar is on point, and the sonoran hotdogs are a homerun. I just can't believe how expensive they have become. We will be back soon!
Tucson has been hit or miss lately with tacos. This place might be my new favorite. The tripas cook perfectly. I don't like them soft or crunchy and burnt, but right in between !! Food and tortillas hot amd fresh. Tacos de asada real good. adobada taco super ricos.
This was my first venture into the world of Tucson’s south side Mexican food options. I now need to make many more trips since this restaurant was delicious! The staff were friendly and the prices were fair. When we were there, the bathrooms were out of order and we caught a whiff of strong cleaning chemicals coming in the door. However, I’ll assume that was a one off. I didn’t get any sense the restaurant was otherwise unclean.
I ordered a Yaqui taco and a caramelo. The Yaqui taco is served over tortillas and a green Chile. Both were excellent. They have a salsa/toppings bar with tons of variety and many bottled salsas to try.
