No other customer was at the bar when I ordered food and nobody in the restaurant waiting for food.
Order food and it took almost 30 minutes. Individuals arrived after me, it took them 5 minutes to be greeted, they ordered food, and received their food before me.
No explanation, apology, or anything on why it took so long for chicken fingers and fries..
Food was hot, but tasted old..
DO NOT recommend.
Excellent place to dine in if you're at the airport and have time to burn!
Genuinely was taken aback by the tasty burger! Definitely one of the best I've had in an airport! For this reason, I must give it a 5 stars.
Burger was a classic cheeseburger add extra crispy bacon. Emphasis on the crispy bacon! Did appreciate attention to the small things.
Walked in at lunchtime and they were not busy. First red flag. Four dirty unoccupied tables. Second red flag. Plates on dirty tables had a lot of food left on them. Third red flag. Went to the lower level because our objective was to have lunch and watch planes. We were told it was closed for only large groups even though only one of the three occupied tables had more than two. Fourth red flag. We were then directed back to the front to wait on a table. Waited fifteen minutes with no response. Fifth red flag. Walked two feet over to the bar to ask if we were allowed to sit there since it was only me and my 13 year old grandson. Bartender went to other end and started washing glasses and talking to a customer. Never acknowledged us. Sixth red flag. While we waited another ten minutes a woman and young boy seated themselves at a table in the larger party only area. I walked over to ask if we may sit there since they were not turned away. Waiter informed us they were waiting on the rest of their party and he was the only server and would get a table cleaned for us after he put in their order. Seventh red flag. I told him no hurry we were leaving.
Now if he were by himself I would imagine he would prefer all his occupied tables close together. I don’t understand why he didn’t ask the bartender to assist. She could have easily helped rather than be on her phone. What do I know?
The only reason I waited as long as I did was because I drove 50 miles to take my grandson to watch planes and have lunch. He was majorly disappointed.
The management needs to make some changes. AND wash the floor! Our shoes kept sticking while standing there. I think it was Devine Intervention that we did not end up eating there.
Stopped in preflight mid afternoon. Dirty tables, not very crowded. Bartender was very nice and professional. Lunch was meh. Chicken sandwich was ok. The fries old and cold. Return ? For a Bloody Mary or wine only.
Deion was absolutely wonderful! From his positive energy to amazing service and kindness, the whole meal was great from start to finish. I will absolutely be returning the next time I fly out of RIC and ask for Deion :)
We planned on eating dinner here before our flight at 630PM. They were closing the security gate for the night at 350PM. Had a good dinner and couple drinks in terminal A at Cross Grain. Definitely better than applebees food. Their loss. I guess I see why they get 3.4 reviews on Google
When we sat down we tried to use the QR code to create an order but it wasn't working, apparentlythe page was down but no one told us. Once the waiter got to us we ordered our food but it took an hour for it to come out, not just for us but the whole restaurant. The problem with the wait is that everyone has flights and can't wait that long for food. When we got the food they tried to cover the stuff they burnt with the meat, and the rest of the food wasn't to appealing. I understand it is an airport restaurant but they could at least do a bit better.
Walter and Anna were excellent members of the Applebees team. My Bold rock Virginia Draught was poured perfectly. They provided superb entertainment during our recent visit to RIC airport.
