I attended a painte nite here. I gave up on Applebee's a long time ago. The only dish I'll eat is the grilled skillet and the blonde if they still sell it.
Stopped in on a Saturday evening while heading home from the airport and there was a 20 minute wait. No big deal. Finally get seated and our server says she'll go grab straws and come right back to take our drink order. She then doesn't come right back and we have to wait 10 minutes for our server to take our drink order, which we also had our food order ready to give her due to the wait. Then we waited another 15 minutes to never receive our straws or drinks. We waited another 10 minutes and finally just got ready to leave. We finally just got up and left since we hadn't recieved any of our drinks or food and we had been there for over 30 minutes. I understand being busy and I understand food taking a bit to come out but to sit with no drinks for that long really sucked. We were also never checked on or told there was a some kitchen delay. I figured they were probably understaffed which sucks but a bit of communication would have went a long way. We couldn't even ever find our server and the other servers around wouldn't help us figure out what was going on.
Went to eat with my daughter and granddaughter. They forgot my granddaughters food. I couldn't eat the soup to spicey and should not have been at all. My daughter could eat her soup either. We were there almost and hour before they brought my granddaughter food out. Had to ask for a box took 25 min for a box
Our waiter was rushing us out although we were literally waiting on him to bring us the check. We decided not to tip because well duh, you're rude? STEVEN decided to follow us outside to say "you shouldn't go out to eat if you can't tip" so Steven if you're reading this, tips are earned. you would've gotten 50% of the bill & with your nasty attitude, im glad we didn't tip you! Other than that, the food was great & the lady from the bar was A1 & she was REALLY sweet.

My friend got takeout for us to eat some steak and hang out with our kids. This was probably one of the worst steaks I’ve had in the past 24 years of my life. I’m 24. The meat looked and tasted like it was made in a factory and whoever is in charge of seasoning needs to look up on YouTube how to season a steak. The fries were good though. But the green beans had a very light garlic flavor and was in desperate need of salt.
This is an odd review because we did not eat there. We were in a hotel a mile away and walked for dinner. It was 4:30 on a Saturday night on a holiday weekend (Easter). When we arrived, the host told us it would be a 15 minute wait for an otherwise empty restaurant. We asked if we could just sit at the bar. And he told us no, because the wait time was due to the overwhelmed bartender not able to take new tables.

First of all: awesome host! He is a keeper! Do not let guests have bad experiences because you followed rotation and swamped a server.
Second: who schedules no staff and only one bartender on a Saturday holiday? That reflects on the management. A) If the bartender wants everyone to go home after lunch so she can make the tips, she should be able to handle it. B) or if this Applebees has hiring issues like the rest of F&B, then close for a few hours.
I am giving this place a 3 for the “deer-in-the-headlights” host.
Applebees in Suffolk VA(Lakeview Pkwy), is an example for the rest of the locations to take note. The double fried wings were superb... They actually look like the picture... Other Applebees, namely the one located in Hampton VA, (Mercury Ave), need to spend more time learning how real wings are cooked. The wings were crispy but weren't dried out, and the sauce was amazing.
