Our family visited Applebees in Grand Haven Sunday evening.
Food - The food was okay. My wife had ordered the Quesadilla Burger which she had been having a craving for; she asked for it to be pink (versus not pink which was the other option)and it came out well done. She ate the first half (I had a bite which was overdone). I ordered the Three Cheese Chicken Penne which was good; seemed like it may have been sitting for a bit but it was still warm enough to eat. My son had the 8 oz sirloin medium rare, came out medium well. Other son had the kid’s pizza which seemed fine.
Service - Our waiter was friendly and attentive.
Atmosphere- This is your standard Applebees and was clean.
We tend to visit here a couple times per year.
We smash everything so good!! And the service 20/10 amazing thank you Jack ! Muchas gracias ! First time here and defintyl coming back exactly this location! In Grand Haven! And finally I get my burger the way I want( No pink ) , in another places I never get it but. In this one yes so I highly recommend this location Applebees ! In Grand Haven and Thanks again Jack !!!
Been coming to this location my whole life and had the worst experience. the waitress took our IDs because she thought they were fake. Manager came back and refused to hand us our IDs and claimed it’s Applebees policy to take IDs and bring them to the back room for a manager to scan and verify their validity.
We had to call the police to get our IDs back and once they confirmed the IDs were real and we are in fact in our late 20s no one came to apologize for the inconvenience. The worst part is they’re manager is a liar. Not one other table the entire night had their IDs checked by a manager.
Since they didn’t apologize I stiffed the waitress and because of this situation I will never leave a tip for a single waitress at this location ever again.
Husband & I stopped in for a bite. Jack our waiter was awesome. I’m a type 1 diabetic and was having a low . My husband went to ask him for some apple juice cause of my situation. And he came right out with it . Very polite nice young man. Thank you Jack ????????
My roommates and I go to Applebee's very often, and when we ended up here after a long day, we had our best experience yet at one yet. The restaurant was calm, with the music actually turned up to where you can hear it as opposed to every other Applebee's we've been to, and the waitress was very helpful and friendly. I believe her name was Hollie, and she was both patient and ready to assist us when needed and left a very positive impression on us. She even brought over a refill for my drink without prompt! The food as well was great, looking and tasting fresh. Highly recommend this location for an evening out.
The lady(Bryley F ) we had amazing
service every thing was perfectly helpful and she updated us on our food and check on us once in a while . I can,t tell you how much we appreciate the service she give us night. My fiance say that she do really good too , most definitely come back again for dinner and lunch , 10 out of 10 service and I also want to thank the manager who charged in to get food out that what you called a good manager . Thank you so much ❤️!
This wasn’t my first time here, but unfortunately will probably be my last. Decided to go out to eat with a couple friends, we were ordering drinks, I placed my order with the waitress and handed my ID to her, as I would expect; however instead of reading it over and handing it back, she held onto it and asked the others at the table if they would also be ordering drinks, which 2 others were. She then took all of our IDs and said that she had to go scan them “per policy” and would be back, which we thought was strange as this has never happened before. About 10 minutes goes by and there’s still no sign of our waitress that had taken our IDs. Concerned, we asked the bartender if she could give us an update on why we have not received our IDs back. The bartender goes to the back and comes back to us a couple minutes later letting us know that the manager was trying to verify our IDs. The manager comes to us a few minutes later, hands back 1 ID, but informs myself and my other friend, that she is unable to return our IDs because they were unable to scan them and thus unable to verify the validity of the IDs. She informs us that unless a cop is able to verify them, then she is unable to give them back to us and asks if we have any other form of identification that she could use. My friend shows her recent college ID, which contains her picture; however the manager stated that because it doesn’t have a date, they are unable to use it to confirm identity. We then asked them to call the cops to come confirm the IDs, which they replied if they had to call them, then they would have to kick us out. So another friend called the police while the manager was still present at the table. The police showed up shortly after and verified that both IDs were valid and he returned them to us.
Our waitress was also nowhere to be seen from the time she took our IDs until after the manager spoke to us and when she was bringing our food out to us. They said IDs had to be verified by the manager “per policy”, however we noticed that the customers that were IDed at the bar were not having their IDs taken to the back for “manager approval”. We were not given any reason as to why our IDs were taken, nor did we receive an apology from the manager or the waitress for inconveniencing us; while waiting for the police to show, all the waitress mentioned was how “awkward” she felt about the situation.
I may eat at Applebees again, however I can say that I definitely will not be returning to this location.
Amazing food with pleasant experiences, super friendly waitresses and did I mention the food is really great?! The shark bowl drink was a hit.
