Lovely service from the waitress, who looked about 85 years old and still working hard. However, everything else was terrible. I ordered a medium steak, it arrived 1/3 burnt with broccoli that wa s also slightly burned. My mom ordered ribs, they were chewy with very little meat. Mozzarella sticks were fine. While looking around we noticed the place was absolutely filthy. Grimy chair backs, crayons and dirt ground into the wood tables, torn carpet with spilled food, windowsils covered in crumbs, walls smeared and spattered with stuff.
The food and drinks were very good however we had to wait over an hour to be seated after being told we would be a 20 minute wait. The kitchen stopped taking orders shortly after we were told 20 minutes possibly due to to go orders because there were not a lot of people in the restaurant. A lot of people left and didn't wait for a table. There were sounds of things breaking and the bar was not clean where we sat to wait. Could be an off night but I am not sure. The staff were not on the same page at all as a team.
It was absolutely the worst experience of my dining experience ever. First the table was extremely gross and sticky. I asked for a wash cloth, never happened. We were told no margaritas. I will definitely not be back. Last time I was there, waitstaff was extremely rude and I had ordered food for pick up. Hostess yelled at me wanting to know if I was grub hub or what. I said I am a paying customer who won't be back
The only reason I didn't give it a 1 star is because I love the Fiesta Lime Chicken. Well, I did.
It was Veterans Day and I took my DAV husband to Oshkosh Applebee's to eat.
First, the food took about a half-hour to get and even the waitress was wondering why our food wasn't ready earlier. When it did come my husband's beadsticks were missing. When he was almost done with his meal the breadsticks showed up. The waitress said she had to tell the back several times to "put some down". The waitress did give him an extra one which was nice.
Second, my chicken was woody and so awful I couldn't eat it. Since no one came to see how our dinner was, I just put it off my plate and didn't bother.
Third and the worst - There was an employee (I thought he could be the manager) going around and thanking people for their service. My husband said he literally looked right at him, did not approach and walked away???? THAT was the biggest disappointment.
Applebee's has always been my favorite restaurant but after everything put together. I will probably not return.
Awesome food. The Fiesta lime chicken and spinach artichoke dip never disappoints. The service could have been better. Had to go look for someone to wait on us. They were all in the kitchen.
Orderered boneless wings buffalo sauce cold, cut open wings weren’t fully cooked. Remade sauce hit some were fully cooked some Werner took left over wings to go to cook in oven at home. Burger was good, mashed potatoes needed butter. Server didn’t come to check in had to flag down another server to tell about wings. My ole lady had the chicken hers was cooked good. She gave me her shrimp I would of liked some lime to squeeze on it but server didn’t come back till we were done than when it was time to pay it took forever she didn’t come back my ole lady had to find I think the server was sitting down with employees in the back sounded like they was Arguing. When I got home the chicken made me sick. Tried telling the server when it was time to pay she just said the sauce was cold. I cut into the chicken and was not fully cooked through. When I was trying to explain she just walked away.
Hostess could have had a better attitude (smiles are free you know). Had to wait a little longer than one would like to get water in the beginning but given the current state of restaurants not being able to find enough workers it's understandable. Waitress was very attentive after that. Spinach and artichoke dip was a thin/runny not creamy. Mozzarella sticks were good. Oriental chicken wrap (huge) was good but you have to ask for the dressing and without it, the wrap was dry. My son's burger looked amazing. The fries are good, overall good experience.
$35 food bill added a $10 tip and my card was charged almost $50. Thought I was generous leaving a 30% tip apparently wasn’t enough for our server and they added even more.
