Very comfy and rustic atmosphere.. I had the cod sandwich, homemade chips, and coleslaw. The sandwich was great, and the bread was the freshest I've ever had. I loved the homemade chips, too. I was a little disappointed in the coleslaw, which was served in a tiny portion and lacked taste. All the cookies, cakes, and deserts looked amazing, but they were extremely expensive! The server was great, and the food was served fast and hot. I will definitely return, but I'll never pay those prices for deserts.
Pros:
- The Apple Jack sandwich was solid and flavorful, but not mindblowing.
- The fries were perfectly crispy and seasoned well.
- The pepperoni roll was very, very good and was denser than it first looks.
- No complaints about the mac and cheese.
The maple walnut cake was absolutely wonderful.
- Our server, Max, was absolutely born for customer service jobs and provided one of the most enthusiastic performances I've ever had at a restaurant.
Cons:
- A few things in my party's order were wrong.
- The banana cream pie wasn't good. It was mostly flavorless except for tasting like straight flavoring extract. You know how things like vanilla extract smell really good but taste awful? Well, that's how it tasted - like alcohol.
- It did take quite a while for our food to come out, although that may be understandable due to the size of my party's total order.
Was on our way home from a trip to WV and stopped to get dinner. Almost skipped over it because I thought the name was Auntie Anne's like the pretzel company! Lol. My daughter was looking for a place as well and mentioned it and that was when i realized it wasn't what I thought! So glad we decided to go there! Everyone was super pleasant! Their sweet tea was perfect! Not sure if its homemade or a brand, but it was perfectly sweet! I believe all the breads they serve for the meals( buns, rolls, etc) are made in house. I was full from dinner, so I got a slice of pie to go. Can't wait to return (they are only an hour and a half from us) and try something else!
Delicious food and cute atmosphere. Chicken pot pie ???? is my favorite ????! Pizza ???? was an 8/10...not much sauce. Chicken tenders are a favorite of my son. Their ranch dip/dressing is soooo good! The country fried steak is good. Pepperoni roll said it came with peppers but it didn't seem to have any. Husband gave it an 8/10. Variety of pies, cookies, baked breads, and cinnamon rolls.
We love Apple Annie’s cookies, so we decided to order my daughter’s second birthday cake here. I gave them no direction other than vanilla on vanilla and the smallest cake they had available. The cake was absolutely beautiful and delicious! Thank you Apple Annie’s!!!
The last time we were here the service was probably the second worst service we have ever had. This time was much better. The waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We had to flag her down for drink refills but overall so much better than our last experience.
Was a huge fan while my daughter attended WVU. Convinced a friend to stop on return from our cross country trip on 5/22/24 for a late lunch. I had really talked the place up and was embarrassed. BLT was made with stale bread grilled on 1 side (to hide staleness?) that tasted awful, the bacon was scarce and the chips tasted old. The cookies that I got to-go to surprise my daughter had bitter bites of leavening not evenly mixed into the dough and the icing was not uniform in taste. Usually the grandkids love icing more than the cookie, they made yuck faces. The service made us feel tolerated not welcomed. Over $60 for 2 lunches and a dozen cookies was excessive. I wouldn't have minded the price if the portions, taste and quality matched what the brand was built on. I'd rather have it back in Point Marion but even the first years in the new place was much better than it is now. Sadly, will no longer visit.
My daughter had the chicken pot pie and I had plate envy. I had a steak salad and it was good but next time I'm definitely going to get the cabbage rolls. Quick friendly service. We really enjoyed lunch and will be back :)
