The food was ok (nothing special), the water glass had a hair in it, the server was very polite, also looks like the structure was impacted by the recent adverse weather events (tornadoes) since the restaurant sign was laying in the adjacent lot so, I am not holding that against them. Lots of butter, sugars, oils, greese, etc.... (just a general trend I noticed at diners/restaurants in Michigan). Maybe Worth checking out if you are in the area for breakfast/brunch.
Lovely old time diner that's been here for over 5 decades. Food like mom/grandma made at a very reasonable price. I love to get breakfast there for lunch. Please bring cash ???? (you know - that green paper stuff) as that's what they prefer, and they'll charge a fee for using a card.
Just like every other restaurant increase price : drop quality. Please please get new chicken supplier. Sandwich and strips were horrendous. I haven’t visited in a long time but never had issues before. Just disappointed!
Went on Tuesday with my boyfriend. We both thought the food was wonderful with generous portions and that the service was great: both servers we interacted with were personable and professional. The one drawback, unfortunately, is how uncomfortably humid/muggy it was inside. I feel awful imagining how the kitchen staff must've felt. So we will be back, but probably not until the winter months.
Service was friendly and quick. Food came out quick, hashbrowns were cold overcooked, omlette seemed to be made with huge amounts of oil, bacon was chewy seemed to be fried in oil, weird smell when walking in. Place seemed unfinished. Not what we were expecting. We did not finish the food. Still paid full price, + tip as it is not the restaurants fault.
It’s the service for me! Not only is the best service you’ll get ANYWHERE, the food was fresh and exceptional! The waitress Karol was so freaking hospitable and on point! Which only heightened the already phenomenal service! Shout out to whoever was cooking the food! We ordered our food and it came back within 5 mins, piping hot and delicious! The patrons of the establishment added to the southern down home charm of the place. All around this was a great find!!!
First visit, we headed here because they were open when most others weren't on Labor Day. Comfortable atmosphere, friendly and prompt service, fair pricing, and a decent amount of variety on the menu. Simply put, everything was enjoyable. We will visit again.
I have had good and bad meals at Antique Kitchen. From having my bacon cremated when I asked for crispy to beautifully basted eggs I take a chance each time I go in. This last time my potatoes were cold and my steak was more rare than medium rare, but at least they left a pot of coffee on the table, so I didn't have to wait for refills. Since I only go here for breakfast, I cannot give an opinion on their lunches. I will continue to visit this restaurant, but I also now know not to ask for bacon "crispy".
