First off, don't come here for a smog check if your check engine light is on. I did, they didn't bother telling me it wouldn't pass and charged me $70 for a failed test on a 1999 car. They are however really fast and helpful at getting whatever it was that caused the test failure fixed, which is why I'm giving them four stars. The labor rate plus the parts were fairly inexpensive and the order/fix only took a day, plus they gave me a discount on my follow up smog test because I had the problem fixed by them and not someone else. There's a younger Latino gentleman working there on the weekends that was especially friendly and professional. The place is a bit hard to find. Turning into the gas station parking lot from Santa Clara street, it's to the right of the gas station convenience store, on the corner. To park your car near it though, you have to follow the white arrows going around the back of the building on the left and park in the back parallel to the fence.
Terrible experience here and highly recommend that people search out a more reputable repair shop. My vehicle was failing smog so I decided to bring it to this shop since they supposedly specialize in smog related repairs. While they did find the problem and get my vehicle to pass, they also managed to bang it up and rifle through my belongings.
After getting my vehicle back I noticed multiple small dents on the doors, chips in the paint on both the doors and hood, and a dent that looks like a heavy bar was either dropped or rested on across the width of my hood. In addition to the dents and paint chips, they also managed to break off the tail pipe cover on my vehicle and claimed it just 'fell off.'
Along with the damage, they also tried calling me while servicing the vehicle and claimed my vehicle wouldn't start and the solution was an extra $400 fix when my vehicle had been working fine with no problems other than a failing smog check. When called out on it, they later called me back explaining they had found the real problem and I wouldn't have to pay the extra. So at this point, they have damaged my vehicle and tried to pressure me into paying for a fake fix.
Finally, I get my vehicle back and my CD's are thrown about that had been in the center console and my glove box was open (and broken) with my vehicle registration and insurance papers lying on the passenger seat. So finally, at this point, they have damaged my vehicle, tried to lie for more money, rummaged through my vehicle for no reason, and possibly have been pulled over by police in my vehicle (for what other reason would they have removed my documents?).
Ultimately, look somewhere else. There are highly better mechanics for cheaper across San Jose alone. If you want your property and privacy to be treated with respect, look elsewhere. These mechanics are cons and don't deserve your business.
I have done business there before, but I do not intend to do so again. I am sad to report that the staff were rude & unprofessional on several occasions, especially in the evenings.
They are often hostile to customers for no reason & try to paywall basic services lounge a restroom that they're legally required too provide
I will avoid doing business there whenever possible

The staff were friendly, straight forward, and quick even though it was pouring rain.
I recently went here for a smog check. I was helped by Valentin who was very helpful. He worked with me and explained everything as he went through the process and I was done within 20 minutes.
excellent service from these guys,i came on a late sunday afternoon ,thinking they were closed ,and wanted a smog check for my car ,and a quick oil change with no appointment and i was in n out quickly ,really convinient bieng in the downtown area
He is rude. Charging 70$ for smog and don't know how to talk to the customer! Shame!
