Delicious real Italian food in the outskirts of Edinburgh. Probably the best Italian in Midlothian
Exceptional Italian food, prepared and served by time served Masters of the trade. A great Italian with quality of food and service that surpasses most inner city restaurants. They specialise in Italian fish dishes which are amazeballs. But at the moment personal favorites are Foccaccia al Balsamico to start. Pasta Alessa (Lamb) for main and Sorbeto Lemon for dessert. A real gem just outside Edinburgh. I would expect to see these guys on the awards list next year.
Amazing food, some really different choices on the menu. They always have really interesting specials. We've been five times and had something different each time, there is a great choice even for veggies! The service is exceptional, the main waiter always makes an effort to chat to you. Highly recommended for family events/special occasions or for a quiet meal. The best Italian restaurant in Dalkeith in our opinion!
Cannot fault the time that I had here. A wonderful quiet time with great food and a chill atmosphere, interjected with caring and passionate conversation from our host (and owner), Danny, about food, drink and how things are going. He completely lifted our moods and changed our experience from being just a pleasant family meal to us being able to relax and have one of those times where you all laugh and really enjoy one another's company. If you're in Edinburgh and looking for somewhere a little different, as a couple or a family, then I cannot recommend this place more highly.
We were recommended this restaurant and visited for our wedding anniversary dinner.
The restaurant was tastefully decorated and the background music meant that conversation was easy but not overheard by others.
The staff were absolutely fantastic - friendly, warm and full of welcome.

We had a lovely evening meal at Anema Core on Friday evening! Lovely food, good price and friendly staff. I would strongly recommend this Italian restaurant to anyone in Dalkeith and Midlothian who have not been! Every bit as good if not better than venturing into Edinburgh for an Italian meal! We will be back !!
The waiting staff are fantastic at this restaurant, they really could not do enough for you, however the kitchen staff are mediocre at best. The steaks are below par, and the starters are OK at best. However, when I informed the waiting staff that I was not impressed with the quality of food, they could not have been more professional and offered money off our bill. I unfortunately will not be back.
