I loved coming back to an iconic LA staple!???? The new place felt amazing to be in!
I always enjoy their spaghetti with meat sauce, a side of garlic bread & the salad! I’m obsessed with their dressing! ???? Also their mushroom pizza is always a must for me!
Just be sure to double check your order is correct! When they get busy, they’re SLAMMED! Other than that, they’re doing amazing ????????????
I got their spaghetti with meat sauce and garlic bread, just something simple to test out if they maintained the quality and taste. Thankfully, food tasted the same, even slightly better from when they temporarily did DoorDash after closing the old location. Had to get my favorite desserts: their tiramisu and flan. Both hit the spot I had been missing! I was in bliss knowing my childhood favorite is back. Parking is either on street (good amount when I went for a weekday dinner), or the back lot which is $2 with validation—the entrance is on Cloverdale. I opted for the back lot to avoid the busy street traffic and it was pretty empty. Also a big plus is they finally have their own restroom! I dreaded using it at the old location having to pay quarters and it being so dirty. Also love the new interior finishes. I think they cut the wall paintings from the old location and brought them over. Will be back again!
Been a fan of Andres for decades. I ordered yesterday for take out. Got home and my shrimp sauce was missing. All they packed was plain spaghetti and a few plain shrimps. The rest of the food was amazing as usual. Hope this doesn't happen again.
I was very excited to visit the new Andre's location.
The set up is the same as the old location, walk in get your tray and silverware and walk in line cafeteria style. The menu was the same also and the food tasted exactly the same as well.
There's a large parking lot behind the restaurant with a parking lot attendant that you'll need to pay, $2 for 90 minutes with restaurant validation.
So it seems there’s maybe some recalibration going on in the background per the reviews on the new location.
There was a mess up on a food pick up this past weekend for a large ~$200 order where the majority of the food was missing. I am still providing a 4 stars review since after calling, they quickly decided to drop off the food with no added cost and did so in a timely manner with a few added pastries on the house.
There probably needs to be more training and coordination/synchronization on their end but I appreciate their willingness to make the mistake right.
Ordered the vegetable lasagna to go. I have never been to Andre's, but have had plenty of excellent Italian food here in LA and in Italy. They love to smother everything with way too much sauce, which has no spices. Extremely bland. Absolutely no taste. I took two bites and threw it out. It was crowded in there so some people like it, but I won't be going back.
Hoping to update my review soon, but leaving this here for transparency to anyone looking to try this place. This is Andre's, newly reopened at Wilshire and Cloverdale. Since opening, they've had long lines and unorganized service on weekends, I ordered pickup and ended up waiting an hour for my food, and had even checked in with staff 5x before asking for an update and finally being told they weren't even working on my order so I left disappointed and upset. They seem to have updated their Google to include the great reviews from the past place to make up for the negative stars they've gotten since opening. Hope they figure things out soon and that next time I go the wait isn't bad and I actually leave with trying their food. The staff does seem kind and for the price point it's hard to find something to match, but just keep a lookout for the reviews since their April opening.
old fashioned Italian. salad was limp and soggy. lasagna was good. atmosphere...one big room like a cafeteria..very noisy..perhaps a few low dividers would help make tge space a bit more intimate
