STEPPING OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE..
I'm fairly new to Elberton.
Needing a trim, at the last minute, realizing my predicament, after calling 2 or 3 salons, not able to get in on this day, being Friday or Saturday.
My journey in Elberton is underfoot.
Judge Jenkins handled our closing ,and Mr. Jenkins told us some areas here that he recommended for a variety of help. My husband and I can't begin to say, just how much help and the nicest fellow we had met in a very long time .
Judge Jenkins wares many hats, but sure gave us time of day, then, and another situation we needed help with there after.
S0ooo let me get to my review of Mr. John Jenkins, he's terrific.
I had my husband drop me off there at Andersons, on late Friday even, a week ago today.
I walked in with my sock hat on, one earring, limping on one leg, and was about blind, because leaving the house without my eue glasses. I'm just trying to get there before he closed. I was a bit of a wreck, little nervous, by myself. So when I walked into the shop, the room was packed out. ????
Well, I stood for a moment, and this gentleman stood and gave me his seat, just as you come in.
I sat down and settled down and began conversation with the
7 yr. old and his dad , next to me.
I can't remember for the life of me the little man's name, but I enjoyed talking with him and his dad, supper nice, this young man is being raised right .
Way after he was gone, I started pulling my money out of my pocket, making sure I hadn't before it, and as I did so, Mr. John told me to put my money back, it has been paid for, the man and cute son, that sat beside me. I was in shock almost, that someone would do that, for me.
Shout out, thank you, God bless
I watched as Mr. Jenkins do so many hair cuts in an orderly fashion, talking, smiling, taking care of many small children that sat up, while Mr. John took such care with each.
Now, this was somewhere around 4:25, and I know
Mr. John Jenkins had to be just dead on his feet but never once complained. Mr. John knew everyone that was there, and new most of what style cut goes where, unless told different, and I watched and thought to myself, as many here, how does he remember all this.
I sat until it was closing time, before it came up my turn with, still 4 or 5 still there, now I did let someone go ahead of me, I had in mind to just wait it out ,and be the last one, but
Mr. John, said get on up here, young lady , so ""Mr. John has this way, when he spoke to me, I just knew , OK, this is it, climb on up.
Mr. Jonh, so sweet to me, as if I were one of those children there. I slowly removed my sock hat from my head, and Mr. John said, "How can I help. Well I almost couldn't speak, maybe not never having a man cut my hair or me being the only woman in the barber show, getting a haircut, don't know which, but once he said , just shape it , I said yes sir, settled in, he ask over the ears
or around, I got mind freeze for a moment, then I took my fingers, lol, and showed him. No problems, he took it from there and done a wonderful job. I had begun a wonderful conversation as I just put it in Mr. Big John's hands.
Nicest gentleman and probably best barber, a person would have the pleasure of meeting and get to know.
I shook his hand with much love in my heart and thank him deeply for being so nice.
I told him, I've be back, and he ask if I was gonna let it grow longer, because he didn't usually do those cuts, and I said no, it wouldn't get much longer, because of an immune disorder and past sickness that come to need medication.
I do my husband's hair cuts, pretty good. He's pleased with the cuts, with me not being a professional. Doing this is saving money. The strange thing is,
I don't see the money. Lol
I had been trying to trim it as my hair began thinning back out, but it was not easy for me
Finally, after I just messed up trying to trim, no more, I need a professional .
Thank you, Mr. John Jenkins
You're the best
We had the best experience. Super friendly and was very patient with our 2 year old.
I recently retired and moved to Elbert County. I continued to drive back to Dacula for hair cuts, reluctant to change from my barber of many years. I decided to give Anderson’s a chance and I am very happy I did. I get great haircuts in a very nice environment, and for a very fair price. I’m happy to have a new “home town” barber and look forward to many great haircuts!
Friendly owner , good hair cut , fair price nostalgic setting
Friendly service with a smile. Come in for a good haircut with clippers and sheers--'stay for the conversation. You will get some laughs and learn about things going on around the local community.
Great place to have good conversation with hard working people. Hair cuts not bad either.
Great service, and a place where you can go in for the first time to get a hair cut and feel like you are chatting with old friends
John's a great guy and it's a great place to get a good haircut
