about a month ago went, were seated, and watched 3-4 more tables get seated (after we arrived) and have their drinks and appetizers arrive. After 15 minutes, we left. Nobody came by. no service. So-off night, i get it, and we left, as we were hungry.
Last night went, gave another shot, and we were seated by the manager and said he would find our server but first explained the specials--the street tacos looked like a real winner, but never took a drink order. Just sitting with dry mouths and salivating at the thought of the tacos. 15 minutes go by. Nobody came by. we left. thirsty. hungry.
You need to get your act together. the food is good, but, if someone never shows up at the table to take an order....quickest way to lose a loyal customer base. Remember being here at the soft opening. Soft openings always have some issues (completely expected as things are getting sorted out), but that was 3-star Michelin service compared to the last 2 times.
The hostesses were super helpful, very welcoming and pointed us to the choice of our table. Ambience was perfect for a sports bar. They have a decent number of vegetarian options considering this place is known for its wings. Nevertheless, the wings were too crispy for my husband and the sauce choices were excellent. I had cauliflower bites and they were perfect. Onion rings were crispy. Labbat Blue light beer went really well with the wings and cauliflower bites. I'd recommend anyone in the area to visit this bar as they do share a good history on creation of Buffalo wings creation.
First time here, and everything was very tasty. The cheese curds tasted just like tiny mozzarella sticks, and the chicken wings were extremely fresh and a good size. The bacon pizza was good with their signature sauce, plus the loaded tater tots are a must try. Frozen drinks were decent. Friendly atmosphere.
Austin is an awesome server for starters! the grilled tenders were amazing ! Their Buffalo wings charred are on point. I would definitely come back again..
We had Austin as our server tonight! Not only was he attentive but also very personable! He made our dining experience a great one! Will definitely be back and hope to have Austin as our server!
Went with husband and friends who knew the original anchor bar in Buffalo. According to them, this was right on par with those original Buffalo wings. I was thrilled with how perfectly the wings were cooked - beautifully crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Ordered medium, but they were very mild. Next time I'll order hot. About 20 taps at the bar, lots of TVs.
My family and I came in one time prior and was seated within minutes, our server Austin was amazing - last night we came back for the 2nd time, we hadn’t been back for a couple months and we were again greeted very nicely and seated within minutes - mind you it was 6pm on a Friday. We had Austin again and he remembered us from just the one time we came prior.
He was so TENTATIVE and brought out everything correctly, the food was amazing as well. Austin had brought refills, plates, utensils, and napkins without us having to ask for them.
If you find yourself in the Oswego area please try out Anchor Bar and if possible ask for Austin so you can have an even better experience!
Finally got around to checking this place out with the family.
Food was tasty, service was good as well.
My only negative comments, the fries were a bit overcooked (burned, not just crispy). I'm sure they would have replaced if I said something.
And we had dirty dishes on our table for a while, even though the manager (I think) came by to ask us how things were going. If you are gonna stop at a table to check in on your customers, clear empty dishes.
