Had my hair braided for the first time. Amy worked on my hair. She did a fantastic job. My head does not hurt one bit either. Her daughter I believe, finished off the last of my hair which included some corn rolls. I was a little intimidated walking in since I never had my hair braided before. I will absolutely go back. I would recommend having an appointment, these ladies are in high demand and I can see why. They do great work. All the ladies there were kind and smiling. Amy had a big welcoming smile the whole time. And they are FAST!! I can’t wait to return
I don’t see how they got bad reviews here because my hair looks fantastic . It seems like a first come first serve establishment tho so even tho I set my appointment weeks in advance , (I don’t really think appointments matter ) but they get people out in a timely manner . They take their time with every person and although they were super busy the day I went in , I still got out at a reasonable time. I don’t know who did my hair but she did a WONDERFUL job and I’d recommend this shop any day and definitely go back.
I AM NEVER GOING BACK!! I went to get my hair done and don’t get me wrong the braids came out good but she braided in my edges when I showed her exactly what i wanted (a lot of edges). I was super upset and when I told her that this is not what I wanted, she blamed me and told me that I should’ve slicked my edges before I came even though I’ve never had to do that before and she claims it’s not her problem to tell me. She was highly unprofessional and rude to me. I will never be going back and will never recommend
I genuinely don’t know where to begin with how frustrated I am with this experience. I called over a month ago to book an appointment. I even called to confirm days ago, letting these unprofessional people know that I would be traveling from 35 minutes away, and have a baby so I don’t have time to sit waiting. Which Is the whole point of having an appointment?….. I fell in love the Waterbury braiding IG page, The work looked beautiful, and I wanted to book ASAP. I spoke to someone that told me I could come in and I would be in and out. Well, unfortunately, I walked in at 9 AM this morning and literally was not sat down in a chair until almost 12! Then, having multiple people working in my head, passing me from one person to the next. There’s a lot of dragging their feet and no respect for Client time. Especially when I was told I would be seen at the time that I called ahead for. It’s just overall bad business practices. And it’s really a shame because the lack of respect for peoples time, assuming that people have all day to sit in your shop, watching the hours roll by, is beyond disrespectful. I ended up getting out the chair and leaving with my hair not even parted yet. Wasted my entire morning, gas, and everything For such a bad experience. And I’ve had my hair, braided many times before, and have never had such poor of an experience.
Here is a word of advice, Respect your clients time. Your business will have better longevity and maybe the Google reviews will be better.

Called to see if they had time for a walk in and Amy said yes.. Walked in at 1115, straight in the chair and done around 245. Smedium knotless. My first experience as an adult getting braids and I'm blown away. Braids look great and getting compliments left and right. Fair price that was told to me before sitting in the chair. I'm tenderheaded and was able to sit through fine, only hurt a couple times. Will be back, whole shop had people walking out looking fly. A lot of talent in that shop.
Arriving at this location with the question of if they do hair with grease and they said yes. My straight back braids came out fresh, neat and clean. They held on without itching for a little more than 2 weeks. For as long as I got long hair I’m going back.
This was my first time here. I have gone to several different places but this is by far my favorite now. Melissa did my hair and was so meticulous and paid attention to detail! I haven’t been this happy with knotless braids in a LONG time! Definitely planning on going back! Thank you Melissa!
I liked the atmosphere & eventually liked how my hair came out. BUT I was quoted one price on Instagram and went and they tried to charge me $30 more. They didn’t because I had proof of my original price I was told. I also wanted small knotless braids. NOT extra small and even after me telling them about 3/4 times that the braider was doing them too small they still did them too small! I think it was poor communication between the braider and the owner but i know i was pretty specific in what i wanted. I personally wouldn’t come here again unless Melissa would be the one doing my hair or Wanda I think her name is. I watched them work on a clients hair and it came out very nice!
