This was a reminder of why I stopped staying at any Wyndham properties years ago. However, I didn't have another option without driving back to St. Cloud or the Twin Cities. These are just plain poorly designed hotels. For example there was only one wall electrical outlet near the bed and that happened to be behind the head of the bed with multiple cords plugged into it and the bed shoved up against those plugs. Can anyone say "fire hazard". The plugs on the lights on the nightstand were old and did not accommodate the charging block for my phone, so I had to pull the bed away from the wall to make room for my charging block by unplugging the antiquated alarm clock. I left the bed pulled away from the wall for what I felt was safety reasons. There's more, but I figure this is long enough already.
Positive: Nice big room. Seemed clean. Negative: All pillows were like rocks. Half the lights in the pool area were flickering or out. Chairs were Brocken and no towels. It was the worst continental breakfast I¿ve ever seen. Barely anything to eat. Some dry crusty eggs. Juice machine was broken.lots mo Negative: ""
Charged us $100 in case we damaged or stole anything. Takes some days to see the credit come back. Too many rules. No smiles by staff. If the staff dressed up a bit and acted professional and had a decent bkfst u cud Charge $50 more and the rif raf would stay out. I myself will not again.
This was the worst experience we’ve ever had at a hotel. The staff were all incredibly rude from the beginning, the hot tub was out of order, room was dirty with flickering lights, and the kicker was no running hot water in our room. At all. We called to report the water issue, thinking we’d at least get an apology and an attempt at repair, but instead were told “yeah it’s probably timing. Turn the water off and try again in 20 minutes.” Not wanting to have our trip ruined, we waited and tried again. It was all still ice cold. We did not stay the night and left after 2 hours of dealing with this. Now the general manager refuses to issue a refund, AND our card was actually charged the $100 “hold” fee. Never stay here. I wish I had read reviews before booking.
Be very careful with this motel. It is allowed 24 hrs to cancel the rooms. I reserved for 4 rooms and I cancelled 3 rooms a week before arriving.
I stayed 2 nights Friday was charged for 202.96 and Saturday 356 dollars and 3 rooms that cancelled each 203 dollars. I called the motel and told me I got the refund. Month after, I still see my charges for 3 cancelled rooms. I called again and she said i already got refund, maybe it showed the next bill. I waited for the next bill i still got charge and i got only 100 dollars deposit for if smoking found. I am so sick of this motel. Please avoid this motel and no no no dont stay there.
I disputed and credit cards told me it can be up to 90 days for motel to answer!
As today Feb. 6, 2024. The disputes denied as I had to summit other proof documents. Luckily I found all my reservations and cancellation on my emails. Also the 2 nights I stayed overcharging me that I also have my price for two night in the reservation confirmation emails. I had sent to credit card to have another investigations. Really headache!
I will keep people posted the outcome from credit card company.
We were in Mora for a hockey tournament. Our hockey association had bad experience here in the past and recommended us to stay at Hinkley Inn instead of here. We decided to go against the advice because we wanted to stay closer. I thought that they would have changed in the last year. BAD IDEA! We will never stay here again. We would rather drive 30 minutes to our hockey tournament than stay here. Bathrooms need to be cleaned better and should be updated. The shower head had yellow stains on it and looked like a very cheap shower head. The tub looked dirty and there were yellow stains in the tub. The beds were uncomfortable. The cable box wasn't hooked up correctly, we had to troubleshoot to get it working. We had 4 people in our room and only received 2 bath towels. When we went to the pool, there were no pool towels. We asked to receive a pool towel and they said they didn't know where they were. We asked to get another bath towel at least so we didn't have to use one of the 2 in our room and they were hesitant to give it to us, finally gave us one. Breakfast was a joke. There was only 1 waffle maker and it takes 2 minutes to make a waffle. There was a long line, we didn't even get to make one. There should be atleast 2 waffle maker. The hotel is not worth over $130 a night. I would expect this from a motel 8.. not an Americinn. The worst part is they have had bad reviews for a while now and it doesn't look like anything has changed! DO NOT GO HERE!
The room was clean and spacious ( bigger than a studio apartment). We would stay here again. We went down for breakfast with plenty of time to spare and there was nothing left and no staff to ask about refilling.
I stay at a lot of places for work and I will admit. For a city as big as mora this hotel is wonderful! Very clean, actually the pool and hot tub were running on a random Wednesday night in the winter. Rooms were clean and comfy.
