This was a very, very nice hotel. Clean, spacious and very well decorated.. having said that there were a few less than ideal things :The layout was rather confusing at first, so if you are attending a conference here like I was, the layout can take some getting used to. Also, the credit card machines at the bar went out as well as the hotel wifi (affected the entire Kansas City area) so not much to be done there , I'm just stating facts. Lastly, there was no gift shop or anything to buy Ibrpofin or Tylenol. So I had to walk a ways to get to a store for those items. Four stars out of five
Lamb kofta with couscous was prepared nicely and was tasty. Tomato soup was very good. Casual atmosphere with a mix of burgers, sandwiches and a handful of entries.
So in love with this American/French cafe. The decor is beautiful! I loved everything I ordered and can’t wait to go back! I dined here during restaurant week in January and loved the options on the limited menu.
I was staying at the Hotel Intercontinental, and American Slang is located in the hotel. The first night, I sat at the bar and had dinner. I had the Brisket burger, and it was delicious! Sarah was the bartender, and her service was excellent! I ate dinner there the second evening, and I had their version of a Cuban sandwich. Also delicious! Service again was excellent! Seating is available outside by the pool. If you're staying at the Hotel Intercontinental in Kansas City, you don't need to eat anywhere else!
I am staying at the hotel and the guy seating kept telling me why he could not seat me. I was in a nice shirt and slacks dress shoes he seated the two men in front of me after waiting 10 min. Then after about 10 minutes later he walked up and told me well if I seat you it will be a long time before we can serve you? So I said your saying I should not eat here ? He replied well no but it’s going to be a very long time before we can serve you if I seat you? I got the message and walked done the street to a wonderful place. He seated the people behind me right away and did not got through the whole awkward discussion.
Their coffee is absolutely some of the worst coffee I ever had. It was super burnt and bitter that no amount of cream and sugar helped. Yet they charge more for coffee than most cafes.
The server took forever to take my order and bring me the check, that I was almost late to my meeting.
The vibe is nice and the actual menu item were nice, but I personally had such a poor experience that I won't be returning.
We there to celebrate my cousin's wedding anniversary ???? . Six in the party. We all had something different. Shown above French toast, Applewood bacon, and Mimosas. The food was good, and the service was slow. Two people walked out that morning. But the waiter was upbeat and holding it together with all the things and positions he was covering . We had a great time, and the ambiance was nice.
It's a Tuesday night so they aren't busy. Ordered wings and salad. Wings were amazing! Service was great! Dude from Arkansas was awesome!!!! Our server! Nice old established eatery!
