We had a great time at American Icon. The restaurant used to be a diesel power plant if remember correctly) and the building's history and character is being preserved. The space is terrific! Our server was knowledgeable about the history, the food, and the drinks. She was very engaging. Our burgers were excellent- great char on the burger, high quality meat, and inventive toppings that enhanced the burger without overwhelming it. My drink was delicious (a fruity sour ale) and refreshing on a hot afternoon. We will be back when we are in town again. Our son and son-in-law (who both work at a restaurant nearby) recommended American Icon highly.
Split a flight with a buddy of mine, and then we both had a pint of our favorite done with our meal. Mike helped us the entire time, and it was fantastic. Mahi tacos were very good but small portions of fish for the price. This was the Finishing Touch put on our 20 mile ride of the Jungle Trail and Pelican Island. Good Times!
Good food in a beautiful, restored building. Mike our waiter had a great personality and was very helpful with his suggestions. There is a nice outdoor beer garden on one side of the building and another side with a gas fire pit under lit palm trees. There's a dedicated free parking lot too. We enjoyed all the beers we tasted and appreciated the good descriptions on the beer menu.
Amazing old power plant repurposed for a brewery! This place has a nice atmosphere and an outside bar as well as downstairs and upstairs dining and drinking areas. With many selections of beers as well as IPAs and stouts. The menu is simple and the burgers are great! Lovely staff! Stop by! ????
Stopped in today after the art fest because they are pet friendly. The food was surprisingly good for a brewery. The service was good and fast. We will be back!
Definitely a 5 star worthy went with family and friends definitely enjoyed the experience lots of history there as well was an old power plant back in the day. The out door area is amazing place has all kinds of stuff to do and the food was beyond good no problems at all usually I’m very picky!
Bartender was amazing very happy n was fun to be around. Coming from out of town it was nice having someone with a smile on his face n made us feel like home. The food was great. Would go back the next time we come down this way.
Very interesting reclaimed building. There is plenty of space inside with two levels. We chose to be seated outside since it was a perfect evening. Comfortable seating and partially covered. Waiter was friendly and apologetic for the kitchen/runners as that part of service was not the most efficient. Seems to be a definite disconnect between waitstaff and kitchen/food runners. Beer flight was fantastic, food was great. Nashville Chicken Sandwich was delicious (I opted for a slice of smoked gouda), and the Mahi sandwich was fantastic. Portions were big and prices completely fair.
They do have a insane happy hour (from 3-6) which we missed. This spot is a definite revisit for us. To fully enjoy this experience, relax and give yourself and the kitchen time.
