Je ne peux que recommander ce resto.
This was mid at best. The room is welcoming, probably very packed when it's full. Service was ok. Food came out fast, but was a downer. Yes, portions were big, but definitely not satisfying taste wise. I felt a bit gross after the meal. Fried cutlet smothered in vinegary sauce, overly sweet eggplant, fatty mayo potato salad with an hard-boiled egg (why?), sad useless brocoli (why?), sumac on cold rice (why?), sad miso soup, it was all over the place, not very refined and very far from any japanese semblance. Not that expensive for Geneva, considering the size of the portions.
Aujourd'hui testé ce resto très sympa et qui change d'un resto japonais sur Genève (souvant sushi dans les resto japonais) . On a pris 4 entrées (kimchi, patate douce, salade de concombres et algues et des gyoza) 2 plats ( un ramen au porc et poulet ponzu). J'ai tout aimé mais pour moi il manque un peu de peps dans nos 2 plats. Mais merci a Amagaki c'était une très belle expérience.
Bonne expérience dans ce nouveau restaurant japonais! Le restaurant est très sympa avec ce côté vitré et ces lumières bleus. Il y a du choix sur place comme à l’emporter, à noter que c’est un peu plus cher sur place, mais ça reste correct. Tant niveau qualité que quantité, c’était bien! On a bien mangé pour environ 60 francs à deux. Curieux d’essayer le tiramisu au matcha la prochaine fois.
I've been there a couple of times now, and while it is still a very good adress in Geneva I do feel like the quality has generally gone down a little while the prices have gone up.
Food is very good and authentic. I'm a huge fan of gyudon and am happy to have found somewhere I can get very good one. The menu has also expended to include more options, which is nice when you come with friends as you can share a lot of the appetizers. The tonkatsu was however a little dry last time I was there, and the miso soup goes from okay to great depending on the day.
Service is generally good, friendly people but sometimes a bit disorganized, especially when the place is packed.
The real letdown is honestly the tea. When getting tea in a restaurant I've come to expect getting a teapot (for which I would also gladly pay a higher price). Paying 4CHF to get a small cup of green tea that gets cold really fast because of the small container is not worth it. I'll stick the other drinks next time, and honestly hope you'll change the way you serve your tea cause this is not it.
All in all, good restaurant with good food, will keep coming for now.
Un restaurant japonais à essayer car il ne ressemble pas aux autres qu'on connaît chez nous. Il n'y a pas que les plats qui sont différents mais aussi l'ambiance plutôt carougeoise que japonaise ainsi que les prix plutôt plus bas que d'habitude. Je vous conseille de réserver car ce restaurant a beaucoup de succès.
Petit restaurant de quartier. Très sympa. Ambiance détendue. Plein d'affichage japonais d'origine. Films années 70 voir 60. Top sympa.
On y mange très bien. Goût authentique japonais. Prix corrects.
J'y retournerai les yeux fermés.
Very good place to be and eat. A bit small but goood points to notes:
- Japanese ambiance (music, walls and even the waiter says "hirashaimasen!)
- great food quality! Gyudon a bit to salty but still! Tonkatsu amazing!
Place greatly recommended.
