Great place, Chilaquiles were great as where the hot pork chicana with eggs and potatoes. Both red and green salsas were great, they also have traditional American food in case you can't decide on what you're feeling or have less adventurous eaters with you. Service was very attentive and helpful.
Haven't been here in years and I'm sorry I've missed out on great food. I had the carnitas. I am always skeptical when it comes to that pork but let me tell you I was very very pleased. It was exactly what I needed to start my Sunday. This will be my go to spot for now on. Price was cheap and I was served with politeness and genuine smiles.
I've been going to Alonzo's since the 70's and their food seems to get better with the savory of time just like fine wine, they serve Chorizo and eggs, Menudo, Spicy ???? pork breakfast, As these are a few of the dishes that made Alonzo's famous in the Greater Sacramento area, Come on in and enjoy a meal in their bigger and better restaurant, with ample parking located in. the Fruitridge Manor shopping center
We took a shot and drove up to Sacramento to try this restaurant out. It was worth it. The Menudo was killer and on point. Service was top notch. Always asking if we needed something ! However I didn’t give them five stars because. The Micheladas we ordered needed a little working on. Still good but needed some work. And if you’re going to serve menudo that good you should have home made tortillas… over all I will be coming back for that menudo… they killed that department.
Alonzo's has been around forever, I haven't been here for some time now they moved down the way to a bigger place the wait was pretty long (it was a Saturday) and it was busy but we got seated the food was still as good as I remember I ordered the chorizo plate & my wife had the traditional breakfast both ????????????????.
Service at this place is ridiculous. We walk into the restaurant can the host he comes up to us and says last call @1:45 we can still can't we? Only to go and so rude no personal charisma or anything not a smile.
It's not like it used to be. Even the quality of the food has gotten worse it doesn't taste the same.
I would not recommend this place any longer to my family
Very impersonal with no personality and rude. The receipt says Ashraf was my server. He never stopped at my table except for when I complained about the bite-sized bones that could break someone's teeth and then he leaned over the table and got extremely close to me and my food with his belly it was extremely uncomfortable. If you ask him for something he'll just keep walking and not actually stop to talk to you that is so rude. But it is Mexican's serving Mexicans so I guess That is as good as it gets.. This place is not what it used to be before they moved. And no smiles either..????
Cool family owned place. Good value. Good service.
