Nice place for a spot of lunch or a relaxing cuppa. Looking forward to the farm shop being open for some local produce. Resteraunt very pleasant with indoor seating and both the outdoor and covered seating dog friendly. Good selection of food and some delicious cake. Ploughman's was very generous. Only filter coffee, though I hope this develops later. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice to see this open again and great to give some support to the windmill. Returned for a nice breakfast also (served until 11:30). WiFi now operational which is handy.
Crikey, that was gorgeous! Lovely bacon, brie and cranberry panini (sorry, no photo as I inhaled it the moment it arrived). As for the cream tea, I've never been defeated by a scone before either. Well, actually it was four (FOUR just for one serving!) and the sugar rush from the delicious jam and clotted cream began to trigger some kind of cardiac event. I took this as a sign and the delightful staff kindly bagged the rest for me so I could enjoy my heart attack in the comfort of my own home / ambulance. A beautiful quiet spot in the shade of tree of some sort. I'll be back, thank you.
Lovely to see the Alford Windmill coming back to life. Coffee shop now open and I enjoyed a pleasant coffee. Really welcoming, friendly staff. Top of the windmill still on the ground, looking rather like a space ship, but gives a great opportunity for a close up view of it. It will be great to see the project develop. I miss the creak of the old wooden sails turning.

Only ordered 3 drinks after 40 min still nothing, asked several times where drinks where, diabolical service staff did not know what they where doing served others that came in after us they just blamed other staff they did not take our order, ended up getting a refund won’t be going there again.
The musicians were very good.
You pull into the car park. Park up but look out the window and think to your self is there a cafe. You get out walk towards the house and then you see to your right roung a corner there it is. You go in looks lovely. Go down to the till area looking for a menu on the tables but didnt see any. You ask the young lad at the till . He point to the chalk board. Oh that's it not much choice. A few nice looking cakes in the display. The choice of coffee is cafetiere or filtered no latte etc. Eventually we had broccoli and Stilton quiche. The quiche was nice but it was just warm with cold patches .It came with salad,coleslaw and some sauteed potatoes. The coleslaw was nice with bits of apple. The sald was fresh No brown bits. But a bit plain. The potatoes were very nice.
All in all once in the cafe its lovely clean and a nice out side area. The welcome disappointing. The choice disappointing. The price. Coffee good price but would pay more for a better choice. Not a big fan of filter coffee.
Again the car park area. While we were parked up thinking is it actually a cafe and looking on our phone to double check. Two cars came in and turned round and left again. Maybe a bit of signage once your parked up or some bunting to show you the way. I know it was the first time visit and if we call in again on our way passed we have an idea where to go once parked. But first time visiting it just looks like a bit of a building site with a house at the end . The cafe is hidden on the right behind the mill.
It is a place been meaning to visit as windmills are quite a interest to me and as they have now opened a cafe on site to help fund the replacement of the 5 sails it once had I'm only to pleased to have had breakfast there yesterday.
The service was good not rushed there are things on the menu which aren't on most cafe menus and all for a very fair price so as its not long opened there may be room for some changes but I would say go eat and help fund this project
Went in fir breakfast as it advertised .eggy bread so ordered it with bacon didnot disappoint lovely 2 big slices and loads of bacon brilliant breakfast
Came back and had hot chocolate and cheesecake it was lovely too ,staff are friendly especially Poppy lovely young lady
Will bring friends and tell people about it .
Hope they get more pictures etc to give some history of the windmill
