It was such an amazing experience at this restaurant! The food is just FANTASTIC! We ordered mushroom soup, chicken kebab, schnitzel, salads and Turkish coffee, and everything was great!!! I recommend this place 1000000% ????❤️
There’s a reason for the 5 star overall. If you’re ever through Limon, CO it’s worth a stop. Small diner, amazing service! Very friendly and the food was great! All dishes were fresh and flavor was on point. There wasn’t much I didn’t try and I could’ve had all again for seconds!
Nothing but amazing things to say about Alex Taverna. Walk in and feel like family as you're greeted by the sweetest woman on the planet. I wouldn't bother too much with the menu, just talk to your server about what's available that day and you'll see a bunch of options displayed in the deli case. We tried a bit of everything on the menu, but the don't skip items: khachapuri (cheese and egg bread), Napoleón (you probably can't go wrong with the baklava either) and some good ol fashioned Turkish coffee. We also had the schnitzel and stroganoff and both were very tasty. For the salads, I'd recommend trying as many as you can, but the Greek salad is an easy, green leaf salad that is solid. It might seem like you're getting a ton of food but portions were nicely sized. For four of us we ordered three dishes (six side salads), the Khachapuri, and a dessert and we ate everything (on the hungrier side). Will definitely come back for another visit, but heads up! They may be moving to Colorado Springs in summer 24.
This is a wonderful restaurant! The owners of the restaurant are so friendly and welcoming. It felt like we were invited to a family dinner. All of the food was excellent. We would highly recommend getting the three cheese baked bread with egg. All of the salads options were excellent too. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant!
Such a delight! Charming cafe in a beautifully restored old building. The menu is Georgian and easy to follow: choose your protein, comes with yellow rice and veggies plus two salads. Beef stroganoff was fork tender and creamy delicious. Pork schnitzel was the best I have ever had. Moist, flavorful with crispy exterior. I loved all the salads!! Potato salad with chicken was unique. I wish I could reproduce it at home. Beets with pineapple so yummy. Generous portions. Attentive friendly service. Spectacular!!!
What a fantastic place! So warm and friendly. They weren't really open as was preparing for a catered event, but still opened and served us. We had the mushroom soup, schnitzel, crab salad and beet/pineapple salad. Everything was amazing! Bought baklava and napoleon to take home as they looked too good to pass up. Cannot recommend this place enough! Forgot to take pictures until way too late.
This is my first ever google review ever! The reason I’m taking the time to leave one is this place is exceptionally above a five. I had the need stroganoff with the beet salad and my husband had the pork with rice and crab salad. The beef melted in my mouth and the beet salad was so fresh. We had the Napoleon for dessert and it’s beyond one of the best I’ve eaten. If you are passing through on the 70 and want a culinary experience for
A good price this is is your place.
We were traveling thru Limon today around 3pm. Decided to go for something other than fast food so i looked up restaurants and saw this one with 5 star reviews. My husband was a chef for 25 years and he totally enjoyed his beef stroganoff. I had chicken kabob with cheese bread and enjoyed every bit of it. Our sides were amazing and fresh. We were even given a sample of delicious soup. Next time i hope to try a napoleon. The thing with their food is it's quality, so although the price is more than fast food, the flavor and quality is light-years better than fast food. Most excellent and friendly service, too. We will stop in next we are going through Limon, we may even drive the 2 hours just to visit Alex Taverna.
