I have a 1991 911 convertible 964. I had a bunch of work done to it right before I brought it to Aldo's. He had my car for about 1.5 years and he tried to say he put new parts in that he didn't. Needless to say I will never go back. I would give 0 stars if I could.
Best Porsche body shop ever!!! When I moved to expensive San Francisco, it was a nightmare to take care of my car when the maintenance light gets on until I found Aldo’s body shop. Now, when anything happens to my car I have a huge peace of mind that Aldo and his friend will take care of it. They are reliable, fast and reasonable and they trust and care about their customers. Thanks for making my life less stressed and keep my car healthy ;-)
I retuned home to discover steam disgorging from my Porsche 911 as coolant flooded my Berkeley garage floor. I had my car towed to Aldo who solved my problem by pressure testing the cooling system, replacing the reservoir and heat sensor, and test driving the car to ensure the problem was solved. When he handed me the bill, I saw that he had charged me for parts but no labor, which is typically the most painful part. When I asked him why no labor, he said that I lived a long ways away in Berkeley and that the tow was costly. Yes I said, yet, the tow and my inconvenience was not his fault. But with a waive of his hand , he said, “This is how I do business. Your thanking me is enough, you owe me nothing.” Where else does one find such a gem As Aldo?
Aldo is the best, hands down. I've taken a couple of vehicles there over the years, and if there's anything better than Aldo, I'd like to know about it. Aldo is a great mechanic, he's honest and reliable, and reasonably priced. I was just checking to make sure he was still open, because I have a car to bring in some. Thanks Aldo, you are a legend.
Aldo is fantastic. It's the mechanic that you always wanted to work on your car. He's fair on his pricing, super knowledgeable, and he's been working on Porsches exclusively for decades. The two times I needed service on my Boxster S, he nailed the problem right away and fixed it flawlessly, at a really great price. Thanks Aldo!
I was referred to Aldo by another shop that wouldn't take my '83 911 for service. I'm glad I was sent here - Aldo is the exact type of mechanic you want working on your old Porsche. One glance at the garage should tell you all you need to know: a handful of air cooled 911s lining the driveway, a 356 on the jack, and the occasional Cayenne or 996 on the floor let you know you're in the right hands. He won't bullshit you on what you need, and he'll tell you how it is. This isn't the concierge kind of place, but Aldo establishes a relationship with you and your car and will make sure it's taken care of at the right price. Aldo has seen it all and is convenient for those of us who need a trustworthy place in the city.
Cylinders 2 and 7 misfired so I had my Cayenne checked out at a local Euro Auto Shop. Quoted me $1800 to replace two coils only. Took it to Aldo that same day and he replaced 8 coils and 8 spark plugs for almost half the price. Vehicle returned in less than 24 hours in great condition. Almost got royally ripped off. Thanks Aldo! I’ll be bringing my Macan soon
