I think the chips are meant to look like that. They taste good ???? that'll do me. The fish was pretty good. Fair price too. And I went 20 mins before closing

I have just been served the most awfull chips I have ever seen (see photo). I will never go there again and I would not recommend at all

Hard to see why this place would get bad reviews. Always good food with friendly staff. I go every week. Wish the complainers would either shut up or try and call in and discuss.

ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL NEVER BEEN SERVED WITH A BIGGER LOAD OF RUBBISH .Thought it was strange only one other person in . Chips a plenty but only lukewarm with lots of end bits of potato curled up and flat and very hard.Fish batter was the DARKEST BROWN TO NEARLY BLACK. Tasted as if they'd been out and in a few times, the batter was a jaw breaker it was so hard. The fish was awful as it was shrivelled and DRIED UP. The fat sticks to your lips.90% of the meal was thrown in the bin A waste of NINE POUNDS FORTY PENCE. REALLY HORRIBLE . Had to reluctantly give one star to enable me to post this review. I give them just a big black X. Never again. No excuses this inferior kind of food should not be served up at ll.

This used to one of the best chippys in Yorkshire by a country mile. Sadly though, greed has taken over and the fried fish isn't even Haddock anymore. I'm not sure who the new owner is but what I got served today was not Haddock, it was pinky grey looking with the taste of nothing. Done some research and found it is most likely river cobbler also known as Bassa, which is pinky grey in colour.
