The only professional and most welcoming salon I’ve ever seen in Oakland, the braider was on time, they’re now at 4227 telegraph in Oakland. I got my hair braided last weekend by the owner and the hair came out so good with a lot of good complement. I’ll surely be back
The negative reviews sound like mine years ago. I booked an appointment for corn rows only to show up and there's no one there. Just a note saying that they had some family emergency. Yet no one had the decency to even call me.
And when I called them the following week,
they acted as if it was my fault that I couldn't be seen and then thought that I should've rescheduled.
I certainly did not!
Pros: I like my hair. The people working there are very nice. It’s close to BART.
Cons: Booked an appointment for 3pm. The Braider who was there said someone was coming to do my hair shortly. She called her multiple times but the other person didn’t show up until after 4. I work a lot of hours, so this was one of the only times I could get my hair braided. Then, It took over 6 hours to do medium sized shoulder length box braids (regular not knotless).
Love the professionalism at this establishment. My appointment was at 9:00 am with a little mix up was seen at 11:00am this time but normally they run on time. Quality hair braiding at best! Been going there since July 2019. I see the hair stylist Momma Sarah. She's very detailed in her craft. I'm a satisfied client. She's a perfectionist at best. I leave with a glowing review!!
I had a very positive experience with this salon. I have a very sensitive scalp and asked the braider to not braid as tight. She listened and carefully braided my hair without over-tightening it. The end results was amazing!
The worst braiding experience. Braider showed up 45 minutes late. Was so rough on my head it literally felt she was ripping my hair out. I told her to be more gentle but still very rough. Braids Did not turn out like what I asked for. I highly recommend you find somewhere else to get braided. Protect your scalp and time.
The braiders here are really nice and tried to accommodate but totally missed the mark. I asked for jumbo box braids and got braids parted in small sections with a lot of hair braided tightly on to small strands of my hair. The end product looked absolutely nothing like the picture of ME that I requested.
Yes, I paid them for their time but took it out immediately after I left. $250, down the drain.
Great braid style outcome... This was of course my 1st time visiting.... They were a lil late ... I was early and on time ... Then had to park 2 blocks away to feed the parking meter.... My hair is super thick and long...and the multiple breaks I had to take to go make sure my car didn't have a ticket.... Slowed down the process.....then after I booked online...paid a deposit they still had me to go to an ATM for cash only!!!!! Next time let the client's know where to park on a Saturday in Oakland....and if it's cash only please let me know before ...the tip got lost in the parking meter
